Honda Murdered!!

I get alot of S#*t for my 86 IROC with a 305TPI/700R4. It's slow blah, blah. I know it's not the fastest but dammit it runs pretty good. Anyway I know this isn't much of a story but I just wanted to put a post on the racing board. The weather's been nice here so I have been getting my IROC out quite a bit lately. Me and some guys from work went to lunch last friday. One guy I work with has a 97 Accord V-6 auto. On the way back to work he pulled up to me at a red light, and started revving his engine. Now to be honest I was a little nervous about this, especially after reading some of the anemic acceleration times from people with 305ci third gens. You can read my mods in my sig, and I've helped this guy with his mods on the honda so as far as mods go we're about even. Probably even on power too. As the light got ready to change I brought the rpm's up till my tires were just about to break. The light change and I was on it, my BFG's spun a little, hooked up and I was gone. I was through the intersection before he even crossed the white line. I pulled on him pretty much all the way to 70mph. Once his OHC motor got into it's power band he didn't lose much ground but I had him by about five cars. NO I was just happy to hand him his ***, instead of get mine handed to me. I did some checking and I guess his car ran a 16.0 stock. I am working on modding my ROC to go after some bigger game. But in the meantime I'll let it snack on imports.

Good kill. At least you have the LB9. I had the horrible LG4 with 2:73s. If I'm not mistaken doesn't you car have better gears than that.

Nice kill, maybe he'll realize that he is actually driving a FAMILY SEDAN, not a RACE CAR!!!

I think you've got a pretty potent setup as is, you should be good competition for any stang and you should in general be confident in beating imports. I'd like to point out as always that the 305 has potential and it only really loses out to the 350 by torque. Nice kill... one thing to realize is that the Accord is almost as heavy as our cars, so it will take as much power as we have to beat us... a fast accord is laughable.

I've got a Geo. Well it's actually a 98, so it was made after GM turned them into Chevys. I drive it back and forth to work. I have modified it's intake and tweaked the ignition so it gets almost sixty mpg if I'm on a flat highway. But just driving it back and forth to work I only have to fill it up about once a month. And hey, it keeps the miles of my ROC. The important thing is that I remember what it is and what it's for, commuting not racing.
I have seen the riced out Metros though, what a funny sight.:sillylol:
