2002 Ss

aright my friend just bought a 2002 SS Camaro(manual) and wants to race me when i get my engine. I have a 91 RS but am dropping in a 350 with about 400 Horses. It will be in with Hooker headers and some suspension mods(springs, shocks, relocation brackets, LCA, torgue arm). The only reason i have doubts is b/c i will only hve my 2.73 rear in when i race him. You guy think i will still be able to take him?

i think it'll be close. it'll depend on if he can drive or not.
you really have to ride in one to experience just how strong they are top end.
those cars are tricky to launch though so if he can't drive it you should be ok.

you better not race him with the rear that you have in your car now....your gonna blow it........i doubt the gm 10 bolt will hold 400 hp.......

The only thing you whould worry about that is the rear end, If that holds up, you'll kill him, those gears arent very much of hold up. from 3.73's to 2.77's your looking at no more than 2/10's of a second slower. But that power advantage you have will more than make up for it.

The GM 10 bolt has held up to 10's in a LS1 car. It all depends on how hard you launch, and if you run slicks. If you stick to street tires you should be fine.
