Since we are not really included in the classifieds i was thinking of running our own classifieds on this board. It will help us sell our parts locally and will also let the members who do not visit the classifeds know what local people are selling. Whats your opinion on this?

Sounds good to me. Listing something on the main board is a waste of time, besides, if I was to sell something, I would want to sell it in Ontario vs sending it to the States.
Just my $0.02...

thats a great idea. i think we should absolutely have a classified section. that way we can sell stuff to local people and ask them questions about the stuff they are selling, etc. we definetly should do this.

Funny thing.....I was just browsing through the classified section on this site and was wondering why we can't search by province. I think it would be a great idea to have a classified section for those in Ontario. This will eliminate alot of hassles with buying from the U.S.(to much time wasted on waiting and worrying) and also will give us a chance to meet fellow thirdgen owners in the area. Besides, I prefer to buy face to face as appose to long distance. This way I know who I'm buying from and two, I get to see the item before I pay for it.

Anyways, this is my first reply as a member since I signed up three months ago. Many more to follow in the near future.

Thanks and HI to all!

I private messaged Dirk about a sub board for classifed adds and i am waiting for his response.
Either way I will have some kind of classified section on this board even if it is only a sticky where we post the part and contact info

Sound's good to me, Most of us have extra bit's laying around that we would sell , Most of the time it's not worth the effort to list it in the big classified board...........SR

We did set up an Ontario site just for this, but I have posted two items on this board with virtually no responses at all.I think Nathan just made a comment and that was all.If there was more exposure on the new board, we wouldn't have to have it on this site.I think that there is only a small number of registered members on the site.

Yes, it's a great idea, Paul. I'd prefer to deal locally, then have to screw around with shipping, currency exchange, etc.

I like it
I like the idea. It is a pain having to buy or sell to the US which is what the BIG board classifieds is all about. I'd rather do biz in Canada thank-you.

Maybe we can get some support from the f-body shops like Paradise Alley, etc ?

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

I've been thinking that too but I did'nt believe it would be possible because of admin/BS and so on.

It's a legitimate use of this board to help local memebers find parts or even cars for that matter. I think that's what some of the recent posts have been trying to do. The restriction against classifieds conflicts with this and, rightly or wrongly, it sometimes looks like certain posts get locked for advertising while others don't.

So, I agree with having a classified board as long as it does'nt end up as a forum for used hubcaps.

By the way did you ever sell that 700R4 it looks like I might be needing one.

Hey Nate, I think the site you created was a great idea. It's a good place to showcase our cars and it's nice to have a monthly feature.Maybe, when my car is ready,I'll submit it. It just takes time for a new site to grow.So hang in there, dood
