Yeah, it's a 91 Formula. Has a 350. I owned it for about 1 1/2 years. It's part of that REALLY, REALLY long story I mentioned....loll. I better not go there.

It was a nice car, but being that new, I never tinked with it. So I never really learned alot about these cars.

The decals are there. Just a s**ty pic.
Has Formula on the doors and 5.7 litre TPI, on the hood.
I knew it would be rare, that's why I wanted to order one.
I went to 4 dealerships, before one would order it. They all wanted to sell me what they had in stock, but none had the 350.
The TA in the background is a 79, with a 6.6 litre. I was getting tired of having to back down or have my doors blown off, by the Mustangs. Those TA's only had 240:1 rear gears, so unless it was at least a 1/4 mile run, I didn't have a chance.
The Formula, sure solved that problem.

Thats a sweet looking car. I almost bought a new formie in 91. I love that colour. What was it like owning a new TPI, you know with a warranty? I'd sure like to own a reliable muscle car for a change.I like not having payments though. ALthough the repairs I keep having to make are adding up............

The car worked great. No squeaks or rattles. The body was fit nice. Never took it back for warranty work of any kind.
Everyone says, because of depreciation it's not worth buying a new car. But if you buy something you really like, plan to keep it and look after it, I think it's worth it.
I bought the 79 TA, off the showroom floor. It was the fastest North American built car for that year. After 240,000 kms. and just regular maintence, it never had as much as a battery changed.
In that pic, it's 12 years old, still has orginal paint and ran real strong.
For me, if I could ever afford a new car again, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Your '79 T/A only had 2.4:1 gears??? Someone stuck it to you on that- the TAs with the Pontiac 400s in '79 got 3.42 gears (manual) and 3.08 (auto)- which were still too little for the smogged-out 400 in '79- so some creative-type must've ordered specially or swapped 'em later. Talk about killing a car that needed help already...

As far as I know, in 79, the TA only came with Olds 403 big block ( automatic only ) and a 301 Pontiac ( manual or auto )
I'm not sure about the small block, but all 403's had the 2.4:1 gears as standard equip. I'm not even sure there was another gear availabe.
