Injecter pukes at a bad time.....

On my way home today, at a stop light, my idle starts fading, sounded like i had a huge cam hehehhee it was cool but i new that something went right there. Got home and right to the injectors caus eit was really hessitant and wouldn't run good AT ALL!!! Kind of like a four banger and you turn the AC on is a good example. I had good readings all the way through until the last one which was 2.1 ohms.... so i spent my friday night rippin everything down. kinda sucks cause there a huge party to go to but ohhhh welll. Big Greek party tommorrowYAAAAHOOOO. I have to go to work tommorrow and get a couple O rings cause i damaged one puttin it back together. ohhh enough rambling later.:hail:

That really sucks. What are you replacing them with?
Where in Windsor are you at? I'm in Essex but work in Windsor.

IROC BOB: your just like 8 minute from my house hahahhah. I live on Walker road, if you take highway3, turn left at Walker, go up about 1.5 KMs on the left hand side, youll see a ranch style house(single floor long light broiwn house) with a yellow shop with a riding arena for horses and horse fencing all around. thats my house. Ive got the intake and fuel injection all ripped out right now if you wanna pop over. Its 8:30am, im gonna go get some Timmies and i have to go pick up some Orings from the shop i work at so should be home in an hour for sure. Maybe well go for a ride after. My name is John. My cars in the yellow shop, cant miss the red machine. Oh 6400 walker rd if you can't find it ( can't miss it.)

ROCHEAD: I think me and you have the same problem, becuase my car also does that, feels like I got a huge cam, but I got a 350 cam in the Bored 307 right now, but people said it should be no difference or just a minor difference. But is it the fuel injectors?
Like my car will idle rough just like u said, with a huge cam kinda feeling to it, not to mention that my car always smells like gas.
But when I showed the guys my car, they said everything was working out fine? I dont get this, the car was never like this before.

John, I'd love to stop by but I am pretty booked up for today. Son has football practice this morning (I coach), then a whole lot of running around to do.
I'd like to stop by sometime though and shoot the s**t. Car looks good by the way.

Later

Bob

PS Are you going to go to St Thomas on the Sept 21 event? I think I might.

Dave if you smell gas, it sounds like you have a leak along the fuel line. When you take off your gas cap after a hot run does is make a very loud depressurization sound? Depending on how bad the leak is it could not only affect mileage, but idle as well.

A 350 cam will not make any chevy small block sound like a winston cup car, on the contrary a 350 cam is still quite on the low end of the mild side so it should still have a smooth idle.

Davecamaro: Get a volt meter, set it to OHMS, touch the two prongs for the electrical connector. If they read 16.0 to 17 OHMS they are ok. Like i said before, mine read good except the last one, i beleive number 4 cylinder, it raed 2.3 or so. If they read any less than 14 then they ready to go. All my injetctors are good except one so i bought one. If it were three or more, id with go buy a set of Accel for 600$.
IROCBOB: thats cool. If you passby, and you see my car in the lot, im 99% home when its there. Maybe if its nice Thursday, well get together and head to the cruiise at walker and ottawa street. I go if its nice. heres my number 737-7942, give me a call anytime and well chat real man ****..... hehehhe later guys and good luck Dave.

Here's the thing about the TBI... you could get out the ohm meter and read the resistance and that would work great for telling you they're ok...

For the people who don't happen to have a multimeter handy...

There's a simple observation you can make for TBI injection... just remove the air cleaner and observe the injectors spraying the fuel into the throttle body and make sure they are identical perfectly cone shaped jet streams... If anything was off they wouldn't be consistent or identical to each other unless both injectors were dying exatly in the same manner...

Slade1, I think u are the one who has answered my problem here.
Although my engine runs very rich, I do have that decompressing noise when I take off the gas cap..
BAAAAAAZZZZZZ... kinda noise
hahah
its funny I never knew what that was all about.

If you have a '90-92 and your injectors are factory original then you will have GM Multec injectors. This means that if one goes the other 7 are getting ready. I did the Multec thing already. ended up replacing the (2nd) set with Accels. Oh yeah I got them (8) for $480 at Rudy Held.

That's actually a good thing dave that you hear the depressurization, means no leaks really in the system.

Next to look at is the spray pattern/resistance of the injectors. If the resistance is ok, check the angle/spray pattern of the fuel spray to make sure its ok.
