New tranny mount is in.

I bought the Energy Suspension poly mount. It was a snap to install. I had to enlarge the slot on the transmission crossmember a little but thats it.It seams to transmit a little more vibration than the old stocker. However the old one was destroyed quite badly. The car feels a little tighter(maybe its just me), probably because the tranny was floating under acceleration. Just thought I'd share my findings.

Cheers

I remember with my old 91 RS I had a broken tranny mount.

The funny part is I bought it, and sometimes when I drove around it would just vibrate, crazy!!!!!!! It felt like I had hydraulics! The car bounced up and down.

I took it to some mechanic near my house for fun and he told me it was the rear axle.

SO I decided to sell that car because of the vibrations and the fact that I wanted a better car. The guy who bought it during the test-drive said "You need a new tranny mount". I did that for certification and suddenly the car drove perfect and had a ton more power! How gay!!!!

iroc2nv.. I told you before when we first met that that was a tranny mount. You can get a replacement stock one for about $35.

You should see what it did to my console when it broke.. not pretty... and mine's an automatic..

I got the energy suspension Poly bracket at Karbelt for 51.99(I think). It was a pretty easy install. My Shifter didn't move but everytime I got on it I would hear something hit the floor just infront of where the shifter is. The old mount was destroyed. It came out in 2 pieces.

When I got around to changing mine, my entire drivetrain was shifted towards the passenger side by a good 4 inches...
