Is this a big deal?
I left my car at a body shop in Oakville yesterday evening to get some body work done (rust repair, new paint, etc..) next week. They were closed as expected, so I dropped my keys through the mail slot and left the car out front as requested. The guy who works there said (on Wednesday, when I stopped by to confirm) that he drives by once or twice a night and if he saw it sitting out front last night he'd stop by and move it inside. Great, works for me. Well early this afternoon my brother and I took the minivan to go check, and sure enough it's still sitting out front, untouched. Now this ticks me off more than a little bit. From an unbiased point of view, is this a big deal? If it's still out there tomorrow I'll definitely be upset (and want to tell them where they can go), but am I overreacting?
I don't like my 'bird sitting out by himself all night far from home, all cold and scared...

hey dont feel to bad when I got my car painted (I already had all the body work done) it sat outside for 6 weeks before they touched it. to make everything even better they called me and told me it was ready and I could go pick it up, when I got there it was still sitting in the same spot untouched! I still allowed them to paint it only cuz i had given them $600 down and they wouldnt refund it

Well all they have so far is a set of keys dropped in the mail slot. So far I'm not impressed. I do have a spare set of keys.

If it's still outside tomorrow I'll probably get my brother to give me a lift back there and I'll bring it home. Two people who work there (the owner's wife and son, as far as I could tell) said on Wednesday that it'd be moved into the shop on Friday evening if it was closed when I dropped it off.
They do all sorts of high-end work (Vette's, Porche's, even a finished pic of a Ferrari) so I'm sure they can handle a Firebird, but this leaves an awfully bad taste in my mouth...

Well they also do a lot of Mustangs, so it's obviously not just them snubbing the lower-price cars.
If it's still sitting all alone out in the parking lot when I head that way in the next hour or so then I'll be really upset. What excuse could they have? We dropped the keys throug the mail slot like they asked, so it's not like they don't have a set. Even if there was a problem with the keys, he should've called right? So unimpressed... Well at least if I do still let him do the work, I might be able to get a better deal out of him.
Any other opinions guys? My 'bird is scared. lol

I say you tell the guy your car gets stored inside or in a secured yard (guarded by chomper!) or else he doesnt get your business, end of story!

Well the car was no longer in the parking lot as of 1:30 this afternoon. I'll definitely let him know how unimpressed I am so far.
