Desperately need 85-87 16" IROC front rim
Desperately need 85-87 16" IROC front rim
I really need to find one for sale.
I will pay fairly well for it.
Once again a front 85-87 Iroc rim.......16" of course
My problem is I recently bought a used set for $350.00 as is, and I just had them re-finished, they all turned out great except for one front rim, it was discovered to have a crack in it. The wheel shop strongly recommended for safety reasons not using it. So I didn't but now I have three brand new looking rims, one front and two rears.
I'm hoping someone out there has one, or knows someone who has one or knows somewhere I might try.
I realize though most people will not want to break up a set if they have one.
I seen a set for sale for $300.00 in the ontario classifieds on this board, but I didn't want to have to buy another set just for one wheel. (Although I may have too)
Condition isn't too much of an issue as long as its still straight.
I'm in mississauga at winston churchill and the qew, and I would be willing to drive a fair distance to get it.
Please help out a friend in need if you can
Thanks again everyone.
Sincerely Darren

Dude, check out the tri-ad paper (may be called the i-sell now). It has been a while since I have purchased one but, I know for the longest time I would always see guys with either just fronts or 1 front and 1 rear for sale.
Like I said its been a while since i have purchased one, but I know there were a couple of ads which were in there for quite a long time, so probably a good chance that they may still be in there.
good luck!

BTW, where are you getting them re-finished and what are you having done.
I got mine done a couple of years ago (wheel wizzard) and I highly recomend them. Got them stripped, and a high speed polish on the flat surfaces and a silver paint on the slanted parts. If I had to do it again I would still high speed polish the flats and do the slanted parts black, since they are a serious bitch to keep clean, thats just my 2cents.

Thanks for the tips, its funny you should mention those few things like the tri-ad, and wheel wizard.
Because the set that I bought, I got them out of the tri-ad, and when I got them re-finished, I had it done at wheel wizards on Barton St.
I'm gonna look in the tri-ad again because I think I found mine in the last issue and the new issue is out now,
Like I said thanks again,
If anyone else knows anyone or anything please let me know, I've been dying for the past few months to get this car on the road and it just seems like its been one thiing after another keeping me from getting it on the road and summers coming to a close!!!
Right after I got the car I took it to My friends garage to get the safety done and wouldn't you know it.....it was stolen right out of the lot, and of course they took the wheels, now finally I found a set and ones cracked and unuseable, so I gotta find another front......oh well.

BTW
BTW I forgot to mention what wheel wizards did since you asked,
I had them stripped, polished, and the slants as you call them were painted black and man I was very happy with the finished product, they turned out excellent in my opinion, so whenever I get another front I'll be dropping it right off at wheel wizards and throwing it right on the car then finally I'll be able to drive it....

Hey man if you did yours on the painted surfaces black, do me a favour and either post a pic or send one to d2kearney@sympatico.ca. I am seriously thinking about getting the painted parts re-done in black but, of course I want to get an idea as to what they look like.
Regardless, attached below is what my silver ones look like.
Later.

I'll send you a pic of my wheels as soon as I can.
I'm at my Dads near Hamilton for the weekend (that's where I'm posting from right now) So When I go home I'll use my Dads digital camera then send you a pic but it may take until sometime monday before I send it to you.
But I think they look excellent.
The wheels are polished very well and they're quite shiny then with the black paint its makes for a nice contrast with the chromish look and black paint...
You also mentioned having a hard time keeping your wheels clean, was most of the trouble coming from that pesky brake dust that tends to build up on your front wheels, or is it just regular road dirt in general which you have to clean off mostly??
take care,
Darren
