Quebec Emissions Standards

I don't know just where to post this, but hopefully someone here knows...

What kind of standards does Quebec have for emissions? Sniffer test, visual inspection, what? I'll be moving there in a month and need to know what it takes to pass or if there's even a test at all.

If anybody from Montreal is in here, where's the hot rod shops? Also, I need a job there. Anyone know any good places to look for?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think K-bec has anything more than a visual and from what i've heard, it's a pretty quick visual.

Quebec has no emmission standards as of yet. I'm in Montreal from time to time for work. What kind of work are you looking for?

Thanks for the replies! I will be moving there in about 5 weeks, and I need a job where I can earn some money 'under the table' until I recieve my certificate d'acceptance. I am planning on going to a university there after a while too, but it all depends on how long that stuff takes. I've got eight years U.S. military experience (Marines) so I've been told I could find a good paying security job there. Did you have something in mind?

How about not under the table once I get my certificat d'acceptance?

Man, I can't even tell you how happy that makes me that there's no emissions! Maybe my car will find a Pontiac 400 between the fenders after all!

Yup... Quebec has an odd reputation to say the least but I go snowboarding there 40+ times a winter there and it really is nice. Scenery, driving, speed limits... And our version of spirited driving is considered slow poke in Montreal. Your T/A should come in handy . The oddest thing is, Quebecers are friendly and nice in Quebec, its just when they come to Ontario that they get grumpy and snap lol.

Well, you were close ninety1gta.

Bientot means 'soon'

A bientot translated means 'see you soon'

Don't worry, I suck in French too, but I'm learning!

I already said that in my first post.

You could drive a smoke machine on wheels and they can't do a thing over there.

AT4 T/A: Where abouts are you moving to in Montreal. I'm in Pointe Claire all the time.

I'll be just north of the stade d'olympique. Close to Beaubien and Pie IX.

Yeah, well, I confirmed it. It's one thing to drive through Quebec with a car from Ontario, it's another to know what it takes to PLATE a car in Quebec.

It's another to work in quebec, have everybody that you work with from quebec, company vehicles all from quebec, co-workers that race Tremblant in Quebec, so yeah, I would say I was bang on the money with my statement.

There's a race track in Quebec called Tremblant. It's like a road course track kinda like Shannonville, but a little more high class. A couple guys in my company run vintage class series. Mostly Mini's and MG's and such. The little puny cars.

Sweet. I was picturing a big hill climb style race up Mt. Tremblant. I wonder how far it is from here.

Translation:

I'm just trying to get a reaction outta greg

Three weeks to go gang! I'm outta here on the 14th, and I expect to be in Montreal late on the 16th after some marathon driving! I should be passing by Kitchener on provincial 401 probably on the 16th. If any of you see an '84 Trans Am with a primered front and rear end, black in the middle and some gold on the bottom, and packed to the gills with crap feel free to wave! I know it sounds ghetto, but BACK OFF! It's a work in progress!
