Cayuga today!

Well after it rained all night it cleared and we were off to racing at about 12:30 today.. Traction blew for alot of guys but I got lucky and was the first one on the new glue they sprayed down and got the best time for the year ( Against Rovic) I got a 2.225 60' and into 14.568 was the best run.. So iam happy with todays results.. And oh ya HEy JohnyIROC I ran against Trigger today and beat him so do I belong to the FASTER THAN TRIGGER CLUB now? j/k!! Nice to see everyone.

p.s.

Hey Palric you better get down to Cayuga you got a new time to beat! hahahaha 305 power!!

That's pretty damn good for a 305 man... you must have the T-5. Haha... BTW welcome to the club!

I'm really sorry I didn't make it guys. I was supposed to ride up with darbleinad.... but I kinda slept in till 2:30PM. I called Brad when I woke up and he said that something came up so he wouldn't have been able to go anyways. I was only going to watch, but I still wanted to be there. Who all showed?

What kind of numbers did that Monte throw down?

Tration sucked for me at first too... but they laid some more traction compound later on in the afternoon... my best for today was 14.425@95.75 with my best 60' of 2.059secs.

I have pictures posted on the thirdgen ontario site... http://home.cogeco.ca/~thirdgen-ontario

Also, the guys that were there today should now know why I want a GTP for a beater car...

There was a GTP there with 180,000kns on it.. mods include 3.1" pulley, U-bend in exhaust replaced, S/C Porting and Rockers, he pulled a best of 13.6 today...

And my buddy denis was getting better times than me today, heck, better times than most of us!!! LOL

Oddly enough 92Zeddar's best time was my first run and 2nd best run of the day.

I pulled a 15.457 against 92zeddar and beat him off the line

Then his 305 on steroids took me after 330 and he was gone from there by almost a whole second.

Funny part was I still managed to squeeze out a bit extra with 4 psi less on the rears later in the day.

Best for the day was a 15.414 and I ran 90-91 mph all day. She still has a good amount in her for an open ended/no traction/peanut cam/log header car...

We had no traction save for the glue spraying treatment zeddar and I got

Hey man great ETs 14.56 is pretty hot for a stock 305 engine. Sorry I won't be making it to the track again this year the car is coming off the road this week.

Iam sure I speak for both of us, when I say "No Problem" I must admitt, I like the one pic I took of the drivers side with the clouds in the background. THe blue sky really sets of your car.

The BLue IROC's name is actually 383 Smoka. I hope it doesn't smoke? J/K By the way 383, I didn't catch your real name? Mine is Keian.

I had fun, I think. I was expecting to hit the 14's but my closest and best run was 15.1 flat. Manual shifting was my strategy at Sparta but at Cayuga I kept spinning my tires. So I but it in 3rd gear all day. Don't know why/ I thought CAyuga was better for traction. My best run at Sparta was 15.2. Cayuga 15.1. Than again.....I keep forgetting to realize that I ran 15.2 consistantly at Cayuga and 90 mph every run! At Sparta I ran 15.2 once and 89mph. So I guess cayuga is better. The car is offically off the road as off now and the winter mods begin. I hope to run in the 14's(high) next year. My tires brought my times down from 15.6 to 15.1. No b/s. Everyone at the track events are witnesses even Slade knows the only mods I've done during track runs is tires, removale off MAF screens and throttle body by-pass. 3 mods cost $0.00 and I knock off 5 tenths. Go figure.

That's it Kurtis. OK. As for mods.hmmm not to sure, cam some more gasket matching, hopefully a 400 crank?? Not to sure. As for the second gear thing. I took her out on the road today, rad leak and all. I actually think the only real thing that happend was to much torq and no wheres near enough traction. On the rougher streets here in Welland she works fine. On the smooth road did the same thing spun out in 2nd gear. I will have to find out the gear ratios in the trans. Maybe I have to much torq converter? I've got all winter so. Only time will tell I guess.
