Now that The year has ended. Lets plan our camp in Niagara Falls next year. DAZ?

I don't know, Paul or Johny could we make this a sticky?

It is the begining of Fall. Which gives us a solid 4-6 months to plan this out,so that we accomidate everyone who wishes to join us. The more the marrier! This should be great. Just need to batten the hatches Now I know we already had a poll for this, but I am giong to make it a bit more percise. Dates wise. Daz? let us now if these dates interfear with any of the other get togethers. I have my stag&doe March 29th weekend so... And my wedding is May 3rd so I myself will be gone from May 3-10 2003. As for may 24 weekend ( no drinking at provincial parks) On to.....I also skipped Fathers day weekend. Just for the dads out there. Lets make this work. It will be a great time for all.

Once we get a good idea when this will take place I will book my 2 week vacation then to help organize where and when if my help is needed.

I beleive it is the Canada weekend. The States has July 4, Independence day or what ever they call it. Is that a bad weekend? Unfortuneatly July sucks for camping, it's hot for one. And in these parts, it is packed with tourists. I mean Packed! Who knows though Greg. This is just a general consences for now, Just something to build on. Lets see what other say. Then we will go from there. Unfortuneatly I think Majority is going to rule here. I'm sure everyong here would like to have the biggest trunout possible. Lets see what comes of this post, we can make changes as needed. In fact I'll make one now.

Paul or Johny? could you add "July" to the poll, please. Just July by itself, if you could. THanks.

Keiran

It's probably to early to find out the dates, but should do a camp weekend at GBM or Cayuga in July. There's lots of big events, with bands and night time activities and racing.

Very true! Cayuga has a great bunch of dates over the summer..but it gets so packed on the big weekend, you'll be lucky to run 2 or 3 times never mind finding a camp spot that we can all gather around. IMO though. Like I said just about everyone has to agree.. actually it would be great if we had everyone agreeing on the same date. Don't want to leave anyone out. Lets see. I "do" think we need to get planning this. Other wise it won't get done, or it will be a big rush and something will be forgotten.

OK. Now we're rolling. Input...need input. Once we figure out when...then we have to figure out where. This could take longer then we may expect to get organized. Don't forget the poll.

This is just a thought, but does anyone on the board have a farm, or large open areas where they would be up to having all who want to attend come there. Preferably not too far from a track. This way there is no issue with alcohol bans on long weekends and no problems with all of us being strewn across a campground.
Remember its just a thought

That is a great idea... Only trouble with that is...we would be asking alot from someone to do such a thing. Insureance reasons (alcohol) Drunk people and there cars. A camp site we don't have to worry about pissing off a fellow members family members. It is still a great idea, just not sure who could supply this type of spot for us.

See. This is why I figured we should start banging heads now. This way it can be well planned ahead of time. And it should be easier for everyone to book the time off. Different ideas is just what we need.

Tracey? Army girl are we? Cool! Craig too?

There are plenty of places you can camp where alcohol is allowed.... it's just usually not allowed in bottles. At GB you can camp right at the track.

No army guy or cop here....i'm a computer geek

I would vote for one of the earlier weekends. My car hates the hot summer nights

But first priority would be a weekend that Tracey has off. We did just get her schedule though this week so we should be able to start voting

OH YA! The car is in the garage and getting ready for the finishing touches on the body. Just got my new welder, just need to get a contract for the tank. Rockers are on the way, and my friend is clearing his garage so we can bring her down to get the SS painted.

Not a cop eh KWF! That's good to know! LOL J/K. Does Tracey know where she is going to be posted yet also? So far with 6 votes it looks like June 20-22 is the winner so far.

Need more input before we can look into a good camp site. Hey Daz! I kinda feel like I stepped on your toes here...this was you idea after all. Hope I didn't **** you off? Just trying to help. After all I am in this are anyway so I would have little driving to do as for getting camp site info and stuff.. Let me know Daz, I'll shut up and leave it to you if you want?

Platoon change

I have the official word that I'm changing platoons...which means I can start planning next summer! Yay! I'll go back through the thread here and see what's already been discussed. I get more holidays next year because of seniority! Woo hoo! :lala:

June 6-8 works for me

I've requested that whole week off. That looks like my only option of the ones in the poll...unless you just happen to catch a weekend that I'm not working. I could care less about alcohol bans though because I'm not much of a drinker.

The Pinery (near Grand Bend, Ontario) is hands down my favourite spot, but, being a provincial park, they will have alcohol bans on long weekends. June 6-8, however, is NOT a long weekend, so that won't be an issue. I don't want to be rowdy and get kicked out though. I hope to bring my future kids there one day. Not that anyone would do anything to get us tossed I'm sure.
Tracey

Good to hear you've got it all figured out. The only thing is, I though that Daz originaly wanted to do this in Niagara Falls, this way our friends to the south could also join us without to much trouble. Niagara Falls is like the Cruz capital. Cliffton Hill has hords of hot cars and other hot thing too J/K I'm engaged too. Our date is May 3/03 what is yours? See...this is why I thought we should start discussing this now instead of later. This way we can get all the bugs out.

I had mentioned Bing park, just outside of dunneville. This is very close to Cayuga..but far from Niagara Falls..about 45mins. to be exact. All great ideas! Just have to iron everything out. Oh ya...and Tracey...it isn't going to rain either...LOL

We will be having many gatherings next season... don't worry if you can't make one of the specific dates because there will be others.

Who's up for GB on the May 2-4 weekend like we did this year?

Now who was talking about post Hijackers before??? LOL J/K

But this has nothing to do with Grand Bend on May 24.

Maybe I will just not bother with all this. a little any way. This was suppose to be a huge get together to top Mark Shields get togther. But I am a meisly Monte man, with a sick Zdr. So who am I to decide, right? J/K Grand Bend for 24 eh??? HMM! Maybe, just maybe.
