Best Option...?
As I've finally secured a winter car.er.....for the winter, what would be the best way to store the 'bird during the winter, provided I may not have access to a garage....? I know a garage is ideal, but that's still up in the air, and I'd like to be prepared in the event that I don't have that luxury...
Thx.

I have never tried the car bags, but it sounds like a decent idea.
I have a California Car Cover. It's made of Evolution III material which is breathable and offers some protection from the elements. I'd look at putting the car up on blocks as well and bring those wheels inside for protection from the elements as well as from thieves. Pull the battery out and bring it inside as well. There's more you can do if you really wanna go elaborate. Just email me and I can fill ya in on the details. I used to work for a store run by RM Classic cars and that's where I learned this stuff.

They are available by several manufacturers... also known as car cocoons. When I build my next car I will definitely be using one of these for winter storage.

Oh yeah...I ran it back the year Grand Bend Motorplex (when I used to work there) and I've been into it ever since. Sad to say though, bud, my best E.T.'s have been in the 17.04 sec range...I have a lot of modding planned for the winter. I wanna see some better times next season for sure. Email me/PM me if you want more info or to see the time slips.

Brad was hitting low 15s (15.1) with his lightly modded LG4 auto. With a T-5 I would expect that you could hit mid-high 15s stock.
I never took my car to the track with the old engine, but I know it was slow.

Ummm, Johny....um, are you saying it's the driver...cuz, um, like I don't think it is. I've never missed a shift on the thing and I pound it hard. I just don't think the old girl's got it in her stock. She's turning out the numbers promised by GM when cars like mine were in production. They're just emission-controlled to death.- something I plan to work on in the coming months.

Tracey, i dont think Jason was implying a you are a bad driver or anything, but your car should be faster than 17s, especially with the t-5. i think you just need to bump up the timing, modify the air cleaner a bit, and get some better secondary rods and hangers.
of course you wont have a problem with slow times after modding all winter. hahahah

Is anyone else disturbed by azures home made ****? Ya this thread has been hijacked alright...
As for winter storage, I dont know about the gta, but in ottawa theres plenty of people shortly outside of town with decent barn storage for around 200 bucks a winter. Well worth it imo...
Tracey if it was me, I would just buy stuff that can easily be transplanted onto a 350. Not knocking the almight lg4s but they arent the best thing to build up
. Just put everything on a littler oversized airflow/fuel wise and when a nice tree fiddy comes along, snag it up like a ***** on a fresh set of momo stickers!

Clarion...: Don't assume...you know what that does. You'll just have to wait and see. Three-fiddy? Maybe...maybe not. I'm also not big on debating or justifying my mods.

Darbleinad: I was just pulling Johny's leg. (Did ya feel a slight tug there dude?)
Seriously though folks, I'm pretty confident that what I got out of the car this summer ET-wise is all anyone would have gotten out if it without doing some more performance mods. (You remeber what it dynoed at, right?) Call me cocky, but hey... I am when it comes to my driving.

Brad didn't you have dual exhaust, cam and headers on that LG4 before you scrapped for the 355?
A peanut cam LG4 running low 15's isn't too likely unless everything around it has been changed aka going FI, rocker arms, high ratio gears, headers/exhaust or 5 speed.

Yours was not an '84 though Paul. They made some upgrades between my model year and yours bud. I believe you would have had the 3.73 gears. You gotta compare apples to apples. I'm talking nearly bone stock here. My "mods" are peripheral at best to this point. It dyno'd at 140.5HP (which really isn't that bad when you consider the sales literature back then only "boasted " 150HP at the flywheel). The engine has 202,000km on it. Go easy on me folks. I don't knock your rides or put my two cents in as to what I think you should do or what your cars should be running. If I ask, that's one thing. And I do appreciate your help at those times, but let's keep the unsolicited stuff to yourselves, okay?

my buddy bought a 89 camaro with a lg4 from a 84 and it is a 5 speed. In the spring I will get him to come out and see how it tuns. It felt pretty slow when I drove it last week.
