i know a guy that has 2 400 blocks for sale. one is a 4-bolt main, the other 2-bolt. i think they might be fairly complete engines, or at least one of them is, even though the crank and the block are likely the only parts you are interested in.

yeah i might be out at his shop tomorrow, but i will definetly be talking to him. i will ask what he wants for the 400 2-bolter. this is the guy that i bought my current motor off of, he always has some great stuff for sale.

 

What exactly are you lookin for daz??? I know of a 406 Bolt, that I am pretty sure is all forged internals...balanced and professionally assembled...no cam or heads, just bottom end.....

Just called to double check on that 406 and its gone already, but they have a boiled and magnafluxed 400 with crank for $500.00
and since you asked Daz, there is also a freshly rebuilt LS6 454 with lots of go fast parts, including an NOS nitrous kit sitting in the showroom, and a couple more that are being sold as short/long blocks.....

 

2 bolt I take it?? Hows the alignment of the block?Is it a virgin block or bored?If bored how much?Gimme more info..Location,choices,prices,name of the place..Right now Im more intersted in the block not so much for the crank but If the crank is virgin then YEAH..Any casting numbers??A 420 cid "305" would be cool IMO..lol..While were at it,how about the flexplate and balancer for it?Since were really on it how about a stud girdle,oil scraper,windage tray,oil restrictors,roller lifter retrofit and to machine a bolthole for my starter..



Im pretty sure Ill be happy if this comes true..Then Ill call it a 305 so people think Im special and be different and run 13's and be a hero and and and..Ill be kickin' 350 engines butt and feeling sucky later cause this big block just left me in the quarter mile but then again I have an excuse my engine is only a "305"

 

Iff Its a big block its gotta be used and complete..(including accesory brackets)cause thats all I can afford..unless I sell my SBC stuff..maybe trade??lol

I saw an add in last week's iSell a guy had a 400 sbc short block with 9cc dished pistons he was running 58cc heads. He says it has about 5k miles on it and he wanted $500. Talked to him fo awhile seemed to know his engines.

If you are interested I can pull the iSell out of the recycle heap. Oh yeah the iSell has a few other 400s advertised right now all bare blocks.

as far as I know the block is still standard bore..thats what i was told on the phone today...I assume the crank is the one that came out of it......and for all your other info.....Ill make it easy and give you a phone #.(my phone bill gets huge when i have to call for other people....sorry) the block will be at the store, Westside Performance...in Blenheim www.westsideapc.com for a map....and the phone number is 519-676-4093, ask for Brett or Mike
