z28=trans am????

can a 1985 305 4bbl engine and tranny fit into a 1984 pontiac firebird 2.8 2bbl??? i no i would have 2 change the mount but can they both fit right?? i mean is it the same as a trans am lg4??

oh my bad the 85 is a camaro motor and i want 2 put it into a 84 firebird. both carb.

It will work but you will need the tranny from the v8 (305 5spd is a good combination)

the tranny is still on the motor from the camaro can is just all slide is?

yeah but I am not sure about the driveshafts from a v6 to v8. You might want to check the motorswap board

i mean the drive shaft will fit, if u no anything else that would be great.

You might want to find out what rear end gears the v6 car has. The motor only puts out 105 hp at the flywheel, so it doesn't put out alot of pwer to the rear wheels, by putting in a 305, it will add more stress to the rear end. If the donor Camaro has the complete drive train, it might be more sensible to swap it all over.
I had been told years ago that to swap an 8 into my old '83 Firebird, that I would be better to do the entire drive train. Also don't forget your suspension, the springs are meant for the lighter v-6, the v-8 is alot heavier.You probably don't have a stiff sway bar up front, you might want to upgrade that as well.
One other thought, brakes, the v-8's came with a larger brake rotor to help stop the car.Just a thought. I hope this helps, good luck.
