I'm changeing a 200C for a TH350
Are the the ratios always the same for a TH350 - ie 2.52, 1.52 etc because I think I saw something about trucks having 2.74 and 1.57
I read that I should start with a late 70s core for the rebuild but I need to know if that should be out of a particular type of vehicle or did they all have the same ratios.
Heard too that the B&M swap kit does not have everything you need and the Hurst does. Anyone know if that's correct and if so what's missing.
Also, which stall to use. The car has a carbed LG4 with Hedmans and Hooker cat back. Rear is 3:23 and the wheels are 26 inch. Should probably go up a bit from stock to cover the first gear in the TH350. Any suggestions?
The car is used for aggressive street more than anything else. Will probably install GM HO350 crate eventually but I expect I'll need a different converter again when that happens.
Thanx.

I had an 82 that I converted to a TH350 off a 77 Camaro..All I bought from B & M was the torque arm mount bracket(bolted to the tranny)Then a kickdown cable bracket to fit the Q-jet..I remember the RPMs going up a bit(500-700)RPM which makes the TH350 haivng a numberically higher gearing..For an LG4 I would stay with a 1800 stall stock 12"..The driveshaft bolts up and the shifter is a little bit off..You dont really need a kit IMO

I've got a 2400 stall converter which was used for about 1 week and under 100 km, plus the TH350 torque arm bracket for sale if you want it. I had a TH350 in my 86 TA. Asking $100 for the converter and $50 for the bracket.
My car came with a TH350... the first gear ratio sucks *** so I ditched it for a 700R. I still have the cross member somewhere if someone needs one.
Daz: so you did'nt have to put some kind of different tranny mount in there to accept the 350?
Kevin: I may need that torque arm mount - so I'll contact you if I do.

It was an '82... they came with TH350s.
I think an 82 would have had a 200C would it not. That's what I have in my 83 - it's a three speed and often mistaken for a TH350. As far as I know third gens never had TH350s from the factory.
