The catch is it has no motor,The guy that owned it passed away with the car unfinished he built up a LT-1 (70s) to somthing like 485hp and never put it in , the car has a re enforced frame as well as a few other goodies but otherwise stock.

Well there is the thing. Even though you got it for a good price, it isn't what it was claimed to be. A 92 and not a 88. I would be really carefull here. Something doesn't sound right, watch your steps is all I am saying. You didn't give any $$$ yet did you?? Did he give you a proof of purchase with the proper VIN# on the bill?? Carefull man, carfull. Or do you know this person or something???
Well the front vin matches the rear (inside the 1/4 panel).Nothing looks to be fishy since he does own a used car lot.Im gonna throw it in storage for a bit,im not really into converts but I just coulden't turn down the price.I will probibly end up selling it.
I gave him a deposit of $200

Well if he owns a lot, it should be no trouble to get you the Ownership before you give him anything. But $200 is OK, just get the ownership before you put out any more cash.
If you dont like it for any reason, I'd like to be the 1st one you tell as I'd scoop it up if its mint in a second.
I dont care about if it has a powertrain or not.
Let me know if u change your mind PLEASE 613-282-9531

Yes it is still a good price, if the car is legit. I am just trying to help him out is all. Not to many used dealerships have many cars without the ownership handy, plus the low price, just seems fishy to me. Oh well though, I am not buying it so. I'll let him screw himself maybe, instead of helping to guide him to do the purchase the right way. After all that is all I was doing. As the saying goes..."If it seems to good to be true, is usually is!"
If you've got the Vin- go pay the MOT the $20.00 for a buyers package to make sure it wasn't "rebranded" by an insurance company at some point (i.e. tagged as salvage or irreparable) before you pick it up.
Any vehicle bought from a dealer "as is, where is" could be pretty dubious- as is means it could be anything and it's not the dealer's problem or fault for omissions/errors/etc. under the Motor VehicleDealer Act.

If the convertible parts(spoiler, decklid, interior trim, tonneau cover, roof frame etc.) are all in good shape he can easily gain back his 1200 dollars if there is something dramatically wrong with the car.
