if it is at the front, it could be the front intake gasket, ie the rubber strip (these gaskets are at the front and rear of the intake and are often called the "china wall gaskets"). alot of people dont use these and just use a good thick bead of RTV. while you have the intake off repalce the intake to head gaskets. get some quality fel-pro gaskets; they are available at canadian tire.

welcome to the board by the way.

i have had the leaks and you need to change it. if its leaking out who is to say that its not leaking in? the coolant will also over time eat away at the aluminum and cause it to pit. after it pits you will not get it to seal as good when you go fix it.

its for the best change it.

Are you serious Daz?

I've had an intake leak for a month or two before I put my car away. Still haven't fixed it, I just ended up putting the car away.

Scott is suppose to come down one of these days and help me fix it. I won't blow a head gasket or anything will I?

mine lasted for about 8 months..I saw the leak early but too lazy to fix it.The gap between the intake and head got bigger and bigger, middle bolts got loosened and coolant seep in right thru the intake..You shouldve seen the white smoke!!..lol

lol

i could so picture the laziness, same as me man....

with me i'm not really lazy, i just have no freaken idea how to take apart my intake!

and people have offered to help, but it seems that when i'm busy they're not available, and when they're available they're busy.

in either case i ain't putting insurance back on my car until the intake leak is fixed, a new rad cap is put on my new 3 core copper rad i bought last summer, a new temperature switch is put on, my intake is fully polished, and i finish my corvette valve covers....

Easy, when you fix the leak, make sure you use good gaskets. FelPro makes a printo-seal gasket that's a perfect match for the ports on TPI engines.
