I'm sure it will be worth it. I remember my plenum took me a while to do as well. I thought it would be really quick...alas, was I ever wrong.

Will do Gerrit. I actually would like to tatke her to the track again how she is, and then bring her home..change it over, and see what kind of change I get.

Tell me about it Chris..I'm still working on her, and I haven't touched the Runners or the Plenum yet...

They are Felpro's , don't have the # handy, but I also use the carbon stains a bit too to guide me. They match perfect though. I have 4 bases, so mistake mean nothing... Why do you suggest a certain make or #???

Felpro 1205's would probably be the biggest/safest ones to use on a stock base..My TPIS/TS heads are matched with the 1206 with a lot of meat left

Well I had a guy who was suppose to sell me some SLP's, but he has disappeared So i'm shopping again, but this won't go on the car till late summer. I would like to take the car as is, and see what it can do, and then come late summer after everything is ready...do it and take it back and see my gains.. I am also considering modifying some factory runners. I have a friend who is very good at Tig with aluminum, and was thinking of cutting out the inside round of the runners, and Tig a new piece across the inside and outside...Making the runners Two open ovals, instead of 4. Know what I mean??? I am doing this stuff now while I have the extra time..Still need to get me a Lt4 Hot cam, cause that other deal fell through too....When I tare the SS down I want everything ready so I have a completely clean eniviroment to build in. The heads will get done, So it will take around 2 weeks in totall from start to finish money pending of course. If you have any suggestions..shoot!

You already know the other stuff I have such as Headers etc. Posi is now in too, just have to mesh the gears. LCA'S and new busings. What do ya think??

That looks like a pretty good job kaz. You really need to get runners though or else siamesing will supposedly just make you loose tq and gain minimal hp if anything. Most people go SLP and siamese them to match. If you want to go nuts buy a pair of AS&M siamesed runners. Either way, just make sure you ditch the stock tubes before you put it all back together
btw can that die grinder fit all the way in the stock base? Ive been told the stock bases are hard to port but never why...

Hey Greg what's up? And Thanks! Yeah well I plan on either getting SLP's or Heavily modifiy the factory ones. As for the intake, if you have the right length carbide bits, is shouldn't be hard, just takes time. But if you do happen to have a bulky grinder, and a very short carbide bit, it would be a bit of a pain I am sure. But like I said I wouldn't call it hard, not easy either though, just takes a fair bit of time, and is very tedious. I have read up on doing this for over a year, to see what people had to say about doing it, before I just hopped into it. In many of others dealings, and mistakes. I learned what to watch out for. And it sounds like many went through in places by accident, so I was a bit leary of what was to much, and did the best I could to make them as symmetrical as possible. I bought the grinder at Canadian Tire just for this job, I have a Mac, but it is fairly big.. this one here cost me $27.99, and works great. So if your looking for a cheap one, go pick it up. I hope it works out for the better, but won't know till I try it... So I'm trying

Hey Kaz,
following you around the boards. How long do you estimate that it took you total to do this. I might start that depending on time involved as I need to be able to drive it to. Can't have too much downtime.
Let me know pls

Looks great by the way.

Im not sure Ive seen fully ported L98 iron heads with 1205's and it looks like theres not much room left.IMO there's no point in hogging bigger than the 1205's for the stock iron L98 heads anyways.Since the ruuners and valves are small anyways..
