New Best-- ET & MPH

Yes, I went to the track today. Very impressed with the results. My best ended up being 13.79 @ 102.8 mph. I got four good runs in and four traction challenged runs (these were no good).
The good runs-- 13.79, 13.89, 13.90, 13.92.

I had just gotten new valve springs and got the Crane Gold 1.6 RR's put on this week. While performance had dropped off the last couple of years with the best last year being 14.05 @ 100 mph. A .25 drop in et and a gain of 2.8 mph from the head upgrades pleases me alot.

There was a Nissan Maxima group from TO there. Most were running 15's (a couple of mid 14's). Talked to a couple of them and they were alright.

I was the ONLY 3rd gen there. It was not very busy at all.
I am so stoked!!
I will not be doing any more racing though until I get a pair of slicks.

Bob

Congrats on the great times!!

What other mods do you have? I know that you used to claim to run 13s stock which is very impressive.

Thanks guys. I wish some of you were there to share in my joy!

Yeah, 3 years ago I actually ran my previous best 13.88 @ 101 mph. That was on stock heads, cam and intake. The last couple of years I had lost some HP somewhere. Last year even though I had put on an Accel lower and some runners, the best I could do was get back to 14.0 @ 100 mph.

All I did this winter was get a new posi unit and the above mentioned work done on the heads. They are still unported and still have the stock cam as well. It sure seems to pull harder up top with the springs and rockers done (102.8 mph).

And like I said slicks are mandatory for me. I am running Nitto DR's now but I have to really ease into the throttle and even then it still spins hard sometimes.

Man that is awesome!!

I am pretty sure that you and I have the same setup on our cars (except the rockers), so I hope I can run similar times when I get the car up to Sparta.

Where are you racing?

Time slip goes like this
Reaction-- .682
60 ft 1.991
1/8 et 8.963
1/8 mph 78.5
1/4 et 13.798
1/4 mph 102.80

Had two other runs with mph of 102.5 and a couple with 101.7x. I am encouraged by the mph. If I can really hook it up I am hoping to aqueeze a mid 13 out of it.

wow, you have some really good 60fts, at least compared to my ridicolously poor ones. those 60fts are definetly helping the ETs

I think my 60 ft could be better. My 3 other good runs all had 60 ft's in the 2.0x range. The 3 runs that were horrible were between 2.49 and 2.79. Makes for a nasty et.
