blitzing !!!!!

they are blitzing down in K/W for safety , etc. They got a trailor and this littel course , etc . They are nailing cars everyyyyyywhere .

So if you are in the K/W area ...be carefulll/.....its a 45 min roadside inspection . They been bitzing for 2 days now and the weekend is just starting .... and you do get towed out if you fail . Just thought I;d pass it on ........

i believe he is refering to roadside safety checks, and possibly even roadside emmisions checks. Our government thinks it is a fun form of entertainment to get more money out of our pockets. From what i have heard about this blitz is that they are concentrating more on ricers than conventional cars.

The local police did that during my senior years at high school. They'd setup at the school parking lot exit and nail the kids driving **** boxes.

They used to do schit like that when I was in HS too. Send you to the DOT for a safety check every few weeks even though there was nothing wrong with the car. Then there was the side road cruise where they take you out of town in January or so and let you walk back to pick up the car..lol.

What sort of stuff will they nail you for? A buddy at work warned me that his buddy's truck failed the inspection due to body rot, and apparently his truck is in better shape than mine is.

Hell even my car has a couple of small holes in the floor, even that may be enough to cause problems.

they are checking for anything...

if they feel your car isnt safe for whatever reason...they give you a ticket and a "summonds" to a garage OF THEIR CHOICE to get an emission test AND safety done...

i dont think its legal..but they are doing it

so yes...

1.horn not functioning
2.no e-brake
3.holes in ANY part of the car
4.bald tires
5.no brakes
6.tail lights out/head lights
7.steering

and pretty much anything that is safety related

make sure your cars are up to par and your golden

its just another way for them to get the old cars off the road and force us to buy a new car even though 70% of us cannot afford one..

nice of our government...isnt it

They were dongi it in other places in Ontario too . My mom called and let me know ...they were up in Kincardine , Ont as well . The thing is ..... its really wierd were they are setting these things up ! In Kitchener ..it was in a real suberban area ....not a real main drag of anykind . But they had alll kind of vehicles around
(support). Did anyone see anythnig in the paper ? I guess it isnt just a K/W region thing ........ its Ontario ......

Couple of years ago coming back from the US, my baseball coach got pulled over at the border. He thought it was a routine check for merchandise. Turns out they wanted to further examine his car. It was rusted right through in a lot of spots...
After a while they informed him that he had better call someone to come and pick him up as they had just deemed his car 'unfit for road use' and impounded it.

So you're telling me that if I get pulled over in my truck I'm screwed, and in my car I might get lucky? My truck has small holes in the lower quarters, the underside of both rockers are gone, and a couple of small holes in the floor. The T/A has a couple of small holes in the floor. Other than the holes everything else should be up to spec.

For the floor, would something as simple as some sheet metal riveted (or siliconed, or maybe even tack welded) over the bad areas be enough to pass?

what i would suggest..

go to a garage and get it safetied (if you are worried)

that way you will know what it needs to be "road worthy"

I had a mechanic say to me that was all you needed to do... just cover it LOL

Do you think that would work for exterior panels as well? A couple of stainless steel strips (painted black) bolted / POR-Patched over the underside of my rockers would cover those gaps nicely.
