Have to Vent
So I had my stupid tranny problems (blown synchro and f'd clip on 5/reverse) then I put a "new" rebuilt tranny in after 2 weeks of not being able to drive my car and everything is good. On my way home from work tonight I jump off the highway and notice I have very little power. I then turn down the stereo and hear a clicking.... Spun bearing I assume! check the oil and its good so i dont know how it happened but I know the motor (l69)was just rebuilt like 2000kms ago and now its knockin like crazy. I'm really gettin sick of this F**kin' car.

It could be worse, you could be having problems with an ugly car! Sorry about your luck tho, hope it's a simple fix!
You buy these cars fully knowing that this sorta thing will happen to you it's just a matter of time. That's why owning such a vehicle is so much better than owning say a newer car. You love the car so much you just learn everything about it so that when something does break, you can pin point the problem, fix or replace it, than go back out driving. It's part of the fun. Just remember that next time

What was your oil pressure?
Can you still start it up and check the pressure again?
I'd look in your oil filter and the oil galleys of your heads for copper/brass coloured flecks if you think its a bearing. You will definately lose oil pressure if its spun when hot. Could be something alot smaller like a collapsed lifter which will basically make you lose one cylinder and a noticeable amount of power. They'll make a ticking sound.

would a collapsed lifter be as loud as a bearing? cuz this is really loud when at high rpms. Also if it were that I'd be able to see it as soon as i take the valve cover off right?

Take a broom handle and set it on your fuel pump while it is running, place the other end at your ear. If you here the knocking coming throught the broom stick quite good, it's your pump. Alot of times the spring goes for a crap in the L69's and these make a very bad knocking sound, just like a bearing. Worth a look see. The L69 that was in my Monte SS did the same dang thing...

I figure its a bearing which is time for new motor cuz its not really worth it to me to rebuild the l69. I've let the car sit in the driveway for a few days cuz i dont wanna touch it right now i'm still pretty pissed.
