Well guys...

I know its been a long time... but I got some time today to mess around with the camaro.. and found out that my corvette valve cover will not for my heads.. I need tall centrebolt valve covers so if anyone knows where I can get some it would be much obliged.. The only thing I am worried about is that the smog pump will not fit anymore if I go tall. Anyone have any experience with this?

One thing after another I tell you.. My old 305 was looking really good to me today..

Good to see ya back Stiffler. I Know your pain with one thing after another. I'm not even done tuning my new motor and now I'm about to swap a 6spd in on top of it all. I miss driving the car more than I worked on it :P

I dont know why your smog pump wont fit due to tall valve covers? Isn't it located near the bottom passenger side of the block?

Why wouldnt it fit?Is it hitting the cover or the braces inside?..I have to cut the bracings on one side of the valve cover for it to fit my TFS heads before..Maybe thats all you need to do.

Its hitting the cover.. I took a Allen key and put it beside the highest rocker than put my finger at the height. Put it inside the cover and it needs about a 1/2 inch yet to go..

The GMPP centre bolt valve covers are 1/4'' taller than stock. The part numbers are 12497978 (Polished aluminum) and 12497979 (Black crinkle).

If your smog pump is up around one of your valve covers........you have seriously ****ed something up. Are you talking about the AC compressor or the alternator?

Moroso also makes a set. They're stock height but are machined for extra rocker clearance. They're part # 68036.

Your best bet would probably be the Jeg's ones. They're a tall design and are part # 555-50104. They're also $40 cheaper than all the other ones.
