The Lt1 is out
After a long than expected wait(due to some health issues) I was able to remove the LT1 from the 86 last Monday. It was the first tie that I ever took out a motor and I'm proud to say I did it myself.

Is this from the 86 donor for your ride?
If you need any help doing the transplant I'd be glad to do what I can...

Whoa..get your pocket book out!
My stock iron head (with headers/exhaust/6 sp) will take a stock LSI auto...I don't regret going this direction one bit.
For the price, it is quite hard to beat the LT1's for power.
What's an LS1 going for..about $2500 plus plus?
You do get a much better engine though, how much are headers worth for it alone $1000?

Should have let me know, I would have helped. It really isn't too hard tho is it? Did my first one all alone too.
Need any help with car chopping or are you pulling it away whole? I may still be interested in that windshield if it isn't pitted or have pieces of the black stuff around the edges missing.

You can't compare the benefits of an LT1 to an LS1. Mod for mod the LT1 will lose every time.
If working with the LT1, I'd carb it. I've seen some crazy numbers from the carb LT1 setup. Really wakes the motor up.
