For those Interested - 2006 Buildup

Was talking to Jay (JohnnyIROC) and i told him i would post as soon as i started getting some stuff in.....

This is the new project for this winter....consisting of a twin turbo SBC in a 2nd gen Camaro with a "blow-through" carburated setup. This will be the only streetcar in Ontario that i know of using a twin turbo in a 2nd Gen & being blow-through.

Some parts came in...here's some pics

The headers will be hopefully done by the weekend......and i hope to have the whole system mocked up & complete before the winter on a dummy block

there will be lots of pics. HP numbers, well i dont really care about that. The car is hopefully going to go high 9's on pump, and who know's how fast with more boost & race fuel.

I'll keep it updated

Just out of curiosity- why, if spending alot of $$$'s on such a setup did you decide to stick with a carb'd system? Seems like a good DFI system would be easier to set-up and keep under control.

Because it will prove many people wrong, it will be unique, and it will allow me to do a turbo system ($ wise)

Considering i need to buils a Dart block still......i think im gonna stick with my blow-through technology

As for the turbo's, they are MP T70's .70 front a/r with a 4" inlet the hot side is a P trim with a .68 t4 flange

They'll support 680+ HP each

I figured it would matter as you demonstrated in the 2nd post afer this one. Iffin' I had enough cash to spare, I'd build a monster too. Hope all goes well for you on the next build. And don't forget the pics.

I think what he meant was that he doesnt care about the numbers..He only cares about how fast it goes.I dont care about "horsepower numbers" too much either

Awesome Carm. I had that planned, but figured it would be too expensive, and the fact that I have hypers in the block didn't help.
I had a pull thru Accel turbo system on bid, then let it pass. Where did you get the turbo's from? And are you building the carb up for blow thru yourself, and if so, can I get a copy of the info and what kind of parts you needed to do it with.

Yes thats what i meant....HP numbers are cool, but they dont really mean as much to me as ET does.

Basically i hear so much BS about all these different types of dyno's & how some are underrated, some are overrated etc....i dont know what to think is a REAL # anymore!

As far as my block last year, yes it sold last year, to a friend of a friend.....and its ROCKIN still!

Dave, the carb will be done by CSU (Carburator solutions Unlimited) who specialize in blow-through carbs. I'm not crazy about modifying (using epoxy) in a carb....at least I wont do it personally with my fingers, i dont trust them!

The turbo's are from the US, as is the intercooler & 99.9$ of the stuff i buy. The wstegates i havent bought yet, they're going to be another big hit @ 700US

Fackin **** isnt cheap, but im sure it will be worth it!

I kick myself now for not throwing forged pistons in when I could have.
I also keep debating on doing a single turbo setup, water injected for the hell of it, and see if the hypers could take it anyways.
I would do a draw thru setup though probably, the blow thru setups take a lot of tuning, where as they draw thru doesn't give the gains that a blow thru does, but basically you can jet the carb up a bit, and rely on the water injection to keep it in check in when in boost.

Actually the blow-through is much easier to tune, thats why everyone is doing it. You just need to spend $ on a good carb, from CSU.

I think the fastest blow-through turbo car is 7.20's

carbs can be built to take alcohol too and theyre perfect for forced induction.

I still a have a Garret 72mm off a Mac truck that Im planning to put on my BBC.That wont be for a long time though.

Not sure if this will do the job for ya . But it comes with a 10 lb spring in it . So it's a good start. I recomend BBS turbo's ( my kit I got ) Turbonetics Evolution wastegate

BBS turbo wastegate page

I think with mine I am runnngi half of what you got there
herer is the stuff on mine

The turbo is a 62-1 trim with A/R .70 on the compressor side, 4" dia inlet & 2.75" outlet. The Turbine side is a "P" shaft with A/R .81 tangential housing, TO4 inlet and 3" V band exhaust.

Happy tuneing should go like stink
