Re: Daily Driver Poll

Gee, I thought there would have been a better response based on the number of looky loos. It doesn't hurt to do the poll. Honest!

Come to think of it, I've had 5 winter beaters in the last 10 years.

They've all been Fords

Re: Daily Driver Poll

My daily is an 01 Toyota Crapola, but it really isn't...she's a good machine, I just look like a tool driving it. It is ridiculously easy to work on, which rarely happens..
Couple small dumb things have impressed me vs domestics..
Front brakes in under 5 minutes a side with rotors.
Engine coolant drain has a real tap and a hose fitting so you can drain it right into container..brilliant!
It's got 140k on the original plugs, theyre good for 190K..wtf?

Still gets 7 liters/100Km in the winter beating it pretty good through the gears.

Re: Daily Driver Poll

Sometimes the simplest cars that are the bottom feeders are the best. How many $60 plus new cars can claim the reliability and loyalty of that Toyota of yours??? Not too damn many! That's for sure. They design them today to be traded in after 3 years. . Imagine the bills most post-warranty Cadillac owners have.... I've heard a few, worth more than my car in some cases. So sad.
I'm a big fan of the cheap operating costs myself.

Ever looking for a good reliable vehicle? Look at the type of midsize and compact econmy cars the major rental companies use. Generally they are easy to maintain, parts are fairly priced and easily obtainable.

Cadillacs? Most people dump them after their lease periods (expiry of warranty). Parts are bloddy expensive and sometimes hard to get. A little word of advice, NEVER buy ANY Cadillac Catera, however well priced it may seem.

Apparently the other 90 take the bus, train, taxi, bicycle, or walk.

Those options are not in your poll

Re: Daily Driver Poll

Snowy icy winter days I use my 96 Z34 Monte Carlo. sometimes my 06 Monte SS as long as roads are clean (300 ponies in a front wheel drive car is way to many hoofs for crappy roads) but the late spring, summer and early fall belongs to my Bird. All Genuine GM here.

Re: Daily Driver Poll

yes, but we're all Canadians, so we either use snowshoes, skies, or some of the luckier ones, snowmobiles to trek through the 10 months of frozen, arctic we call home.
