Hi. This is Gary from Barrie. Gateway to cottage country.
I have an 83Z dark blue, TTops, 350, t5.
Not to scare you young folks but I have owned a camero since 1970. So I will not put in my age if that is OK, I do not want to be called an "old fart" trying to be a teenager again. First one was a 67, followed by a 75 then in 85 I had an 81 Z and an 82 Z. My wife got the 82Z but she had to share with our 16 year old son. Now that I am in my second childhood I think a have the last camero I will ever own. Seems that the SUV is much more quieter, smoother, and it goes though snow much better, but sucks on power, on acceleration, and cornering. Great to see that we now have a place to call "ours"

I got them last summer when they where on special.I think they where $350 US for the headers and y pipe and $35 US for the install. The order came from Zeke's in Quebec so I did'nt get raped by the beautiful people at customs.I had a set of Edelbrock's ready to go on but then the SLP's went on sale so I sold the Edelbrock's.I did not get either set coated. There is a place in Ottawa that will coat headers for $250 canadian.I can get the number if you want.

Liam92L98. I see you have the 1LE brake upgrade parts. Did you have trouble getting all the parts? The US guys say its about a 600-700$ upgrade. What did it cost in Canadian bux? I really wanna do this to my car but I don't have the coin right now.

zedder 1990, The place that coats Headers in Ottawa is CermaKrome (613 822-4000, 4210 Albian Rd) It's just as Acceld Z said, $250 for a set of small blocks, and around $20/foot for pipes.(Y-pipes, etc.) Call them and judge for yourself, but sending them to Jet-Hot in the US may be worth the extra $, I think they have a better product.

Actually I bought my brake upgrade hardware before 1997(thats when I bought my 92 Z28)I had it on an 84 Z28 before I sold it. The rotors only come from GM at about $155 each (plus MUCH BIGGER
bearings that come seperate) there is a small bracket that bolts to the knuckle and a caliper housing bracket that bolts to the small bracket. The caliper floats in this housing, I think this is the part that is in short supply? I forget how much that costs, check your dealer. As for the small bracket I think they are quit cheap, if not I can copy mine and make you a pair. The calipers are easy, just go to Canadian Tire and say you want remanufactered caliper for a vette, there is a core charge but it's cheaper than new and just as good. The stock knuckles can be modified, as I did mine. After purchasing 1 knuckle fron GM at over $350 I wanted to see how different they were....not very much. Brake hoses were $25-35, keep in mind these are pre 97 prices.
Hope this helps

Mosport would be fun, they do have weekends that they rent the track out to clubs. I've been there on weekends where the BMW club was renting the facilities. You get to go around the course with an instructor in your car!Looks like fun. For you Ottawa area guys,I can be in Dowtown Ottawa in a little over 3 hours thanks to the 416(No traffic). Mosport is 15 minutes or so from my house. So lets say under 4 hours easy. http://www.mosport.com/

I live near Woodstock, Ontario. I'm an 'older guy'.
This is my second 3rd Gen. I demolished an '83 Z28 LG4 a couple of years ago. I bought my first Camaro new in 1968, a 275 hp 327 4-speed with heavy duty everything... a poor man's Z/28 you could say. Some of the more interesting cars I've owned include a 1958 Bugeye Sprite (my first car), an MGB, a Datsun 240Z and an Austin Mini. After discovering the F-Body world on-line, I hooked up with Toronto F-Body Motorsports http://www.tfbm.org BTW, 'OLDYELLR' is my license plate.

John. alcona is were I used to hang out as a young responisable teenager. At one time when I was first married we lived on John St. Back in the good old days if the cops got you for drinking they would bring you home to Mom and Dad to serve out the justice. I beleive that at that time Innisfil had like to cop cars.

It's Mark, but thats OK I'll forgive you
John lives in Woodstock.
I'll have to ride my bike down town and see if I can't find John St. The cops are now South Simcoe, they cover all the little towns between here and Bradford as well as out to Cookstown!!
I used to get brought home to Dad when I was a teen in Newmarket, I would have rathered spend the night in the "tank"

Hey everyone. I'm Brad and I'm in Whitby right now for school. I drive a Black 88 GTA which should be on the road (finally!) in a few days! It's my second GTA (long story), butb the first one I ever drove. I'll tell you all if you want to hear it!
Oh, and I'm 21.

Hi all, I recently was given an 83 Firebird.
It's very sad. I've but alot of elbow-grease into the past few weeks. Gettin it Clean!! and detailed. I've reconditioned the whole suspension so far. Now I need an engine and a nice paint job but it's a summer project so I'm taking my time. I'll be -don't laugh- doin' up a v6, and 5spd tranny. couple years of collage left, gotta budget, V8 some other time. I plan to add an nice sony cd-player, amp, 6x9's, mids+tweets and just a single 10 or 12 sub. It's metallic blue and I plan to repaint it the same color.
I'm in Regina, Saskatchewan and am 22 years old.
Talk to all soon

O.K. I know this board is for Third Gen fanatics in southern Ontario, but I just sort of stumbled across this board.
Given the huge response to "Hi Everybody", wouldn't it make sense to start a new chapter of the Third Gen Board devoted to Canadian devotees?
I myself was the founder of the British Columbia Z Car Registry,(Datsuns not Chevys).
The first meeting we ever had was at my old sign shop, eighteen people showed
up; today that same club, with over one hundred members is one of North America's more respected associations of single marque clubs.
Having owned a few Camaros over the years, I now own one of those models I have always lusted after, a triple black '88 IROC convertible.
Sorry for being so long winded but the only way we in the great white north can get any respect or discounts from those suppliers to the south is to act as one.
So for now, lets try to forget our East/West war of words and think about mounting a united front, with regard to group purchases etc.
I propose we start a new national Camaro or Third Gen club. Any volunteers for club founder (its a helluva lot of work) please step forward.

I'm all over that idea. In fact I'd like to go a few steps farther... I don't know exactly where but I have business certificate thats dieing to be used. I agree on the united front idea. Not just to possibly group purchase but also WHERE to find the best deals. I would really like to know where my autowrecker is buying the new aftermarket interior and even exterior pieces i've purchased. I'm sure there's big money to be made on just dash pads, radio bezels and upper consoles. .
It took me awhile to find any usefull info on firebirds until I found this site where I found 99% of the info I have.
But now that I have info.... Parts. GM crate 3.4l : 6000 ******* dollars?? sounded like the best idea i've ever had givin to me thats no longer an option, I guess. In the USA: $350us + shipping, but Canada's too far. Theres gotta be somewhere to get this stuff in Canada cheap. I know there is an Automotive parts industry in Canada so there's gotta be somewhere. David T's is a good place to go for our parts used but they know the value, and their monopoly position when you want a rust free door or set of louvers. It could just be Regina but there a very few f-bodys in the junkyard, you see a row of 25+ mustangs and then a row of three firesale Camaro's. Are Firebirds THAT much rarer? I getting sick of: "Do you have a 2.8l V6 for a 83 firebird?" answer from grinning junkyard guy: "Good luck" me: "F***** **** *** *** *** ** ****mustangs** ****GM **** Dealer*****asking me**to*** bendover*** and****cough **** *** ***, (twich, twich)". o.k vented..
.
Yeah, I'm all for some sort of website related club and I want to be part of making/maintaining it. I'm sure it will grow huge over time. email me at blade.1@sk.sympatico.ca.

My name is Gary and I'm in the 40+ group. I'm the original owner of my 87 IROC-Z 5.7L, she's only got 83,000 Kilometers on it and it's in original mint condition. Good to see some S.Ontario people interested in 3rd Gens.

Name's Jay, I live in London and I drive an '83 Z28. Here are my mods:
-87 RS front clip and GFX
-Limo Tint all around
-Hand Polished Z28 rims
-Caddy Rotors
-Edlebrock open element
I have a new engine ready to go in:
355 4-bolt
Ported Dart SR Heads
LT-1 PM Rods
Flat Top Pistons
455 455 Cam
4 BBL Dual Plane with Qjet
All block work, and parts came from Atchison Machine Services.
I bought the car for $650 Canadian. When I got it there were holes you could put your arm through. I had to patch 12 holes in the floor for the safety.
