Depends how long the weather holds out. But it's not just the salt and snow you have to worry about. The damp weather in October and November doesn't do them any good either. But you probably know all that. So, to answer your question, I usually get mine oil sprayed around the end of October and park it shortly thereafter. The car is an 83 TA and over the years I've put it through about 3-4 winters. Shooting it up oil every year has kept it rust free; however, it makes a hell of a mess and if the car ever catches fire it's going to go up real good.

The Iroc is already put away.
It's got a lot of work planned for it this winter and it's parked as we speak. New engine, new paint. I'm going back to carb from the TPI. I(as in what I can work on myself) can make more power from a carb than the TPI. Plus, she's worn out and doesn't like to start in cold weather. But usually I put the car away at the end of October.

Normally I drive until late november, that's when I have to get a sticker. Although now it makes no difference when you get your sticker, dam government.
As for spraying a car that has never seen salt......WHY? The sheetmetal used in cars today is already treated with corrosive inhibitors. Plus I ask again why, if you don't drive it in the winter do not waste your money. I just bought a 1985 chev scottsdale pickup from SC that still has the original dual exhuast, it's diesel.

These cars run great in the cooler air but not so cool when the snow is on the ground. My car goes on jack stands in late November. It has only seen 2 winters.

I like it that you are already resigned to the fact that you would be a sacrificial bird, even with your serious upgrades.

Bottles and blowers make all the rest slower.

Son of a bitch 4NK8OR, How many times do I have to spank you for you to realize your ride is as slow as a Yugo? I've met some hard-headed dudes, but man, don't you realize when the guy your racin' is ahead of you, especially almost out of sight, that means you just lost.
Second place, your the first loser!

My car went in last monday for the winter. Living in Barrie you never know when mother nature will strike. This is the third year that I wintered a car. I have owned a camaro of diferent styles since 1970. I have driven in winters in Barrie with and without snow tires. Now that I have a Blazer with 4 wheel drive I am chicken to drive the Z in even wet weather. How time takes a toll on us old guys.

I can't afford to put my ride away for the winter need it to drive to work. Put new tires on it last year just before the winter and it worked really well in the snow. Starting to see a little rust around the front of the hood and a few other places. I think I will be doing bodywork and a paint job in the spring.

I took mine out of storage for this weekend. The weather has been great here in southern Ontario and I needed a V8 fix. I was suffering from withdrawel.

I picked up an '84 a month ago, and it's just going on the road this week... In all it's unfinished glory... The lease on my neon (don't laugh, it was faster then my '83 camaro) is up, and i need a car (selling the '83)... Besides, a 350 with RWD and no ABS just makes things more fun. right
