I saw someone who MADE them out of light covers (think of FLOURESCENT light covers).....believe it or not, looked just as good as purchased ones.

What type of bulbs...? I thought the nice, HID-looking cheapy Xenon bulbs didn't work in our vehicles...? If you're thinking of those "Cool Blue" line of bulbs (I think Delco makes a line as does Sylvania, or someone), I'd advise against it....the "blue" housing looks as yellow when it's lit up as any other stock bulb I've ever seen. If there IS a direct-replacement...w00! Hook me up!:lala:
Paul: I don't think they look too bad. Not something I would do, but it's descent. I saw those headlights you are talking about...they had them at the autoshow. I'm not sure how noticeable they will be once that are on the car...I would like to try them too, but for $25 a piece...it's a helluva expensive experiment if they aren't noticeable.
Nathan: Have you installed the conversion kit yet? I thought about this approach too but some said they had issues with the high beams not working properly and because of the extra current draw wires burning up. I wanted to try these too, but I wanted someone's first hand experience first.

well.. the kit itself wouldn't do any harm, all it is is a sealed beam headlight, but with a light socket in the back that accepts an H4 bulb. The bulbs I put in perform like 85/110W bulbs.. its pretty bright, and not really blue, its more like an intense white. A lot of people notice them.. in fact a guy with a sweet 1987 Vette noticed them and followed me to Tim Hortons, to find out where I got them. High beams work well... but to be honest, I don't need them LOL..
Its an expensive kit, 80bux for the conversion, then I paid 50bux for the bulbs.
I just picked up some H3 bulbs for the fog lights, they are from PIAA, and they perform like a 135watt bulb... can't wait to get those in there
I had to get them, because I couldn't even see the foglight beams because the headlights drown them out...

I think I'll make a post in the other forum and see if any Camaro owners have done it. I was thinking of just doing the regular headlights conversion to the Bosch kit and leaving the high beams, since I rarely use them, as the plain ol' sealed beam.
Where did you get the kit from?

IMHO...
CLEAR LENSES on an 3rd gen f-body ? Someone pass me some ETHER I think I am going to faint -- what is the matter with youth nowadays anyway (ha, ha) ?
I always figured an IROC, RS, GTA, T/A or Formula was cool 'au natural' ... just the way it came from the factory in fact now that they are getting on in years the closer it is to showroom condition and according to me atleast, the cooler they look.
My point is this -- IMHO a 3rd gen needs no help from things glued, tied, duct taped, stapled, or otherwise attached to it including CLEAR LENSES to improve on it's looks or styling.
Well, now that I got that off my chest, have a nice day.
RP.
BY-THE-WAY: CHECK OUT THIS PIC (ATTACHED). I GOT THIS PIC FROM THE FORMULA SITE. TALK ABOUT HOT RED EH ?

Here's a picture of my headlights and new foglights.... I'll get a new picture, since I forgot to take abetter one after I moved the car tonight.... My car is now in a position, where if I want to take it out for a spin, I can... before I was blocked in by 2 cars.
Moving it around today, seems like it has much better throttle response.
Oh Yeah.... anyone know where I can get a hold down brackets for the foglight... I lost one in the black hole behind the lights... can't find it... I took out the panels underneath.. and still can;t find it

i need the clip for my foglight 2. crappy tire does not sell them but they do sell the replacment lens which i need. moral of the story when you finish your t5 swap and take the car out for the first time make sure the foglight lens is secure b4 you launch the car as hard as you can.
Azure.. dood... I don't have photoshop... thats how the picture turned out.. swear on my life!!!
I need a new lens as well... but I don't think you can get just a lens, unless you find one at the wreckers.. which is pretty rare. And factory ones are freaking expensive

nblanchard I really like that look, whats the brand name of the bulbs you used for your headlights and fog lights, BLW just to let you know I have that same kit installed already.
The headlight bulbs, I forget what brand name they are, all I know is that they are 50bux for a pair. The foglights are PIAA H3 85Watt Bulbs, they were like 40 a piece... ouch.. but its better than paying mega for aftermarket whole units that don't look good on the car..... I have another picture.. may look better than the first I posted.
