Can an ignition problem cause spark knock?
OK after having pathetic time at the treack I decided to buy a new ignition module to help my problem...I installed the thing and started up the car...Car ran great...Took it up the street and it Ran very very well....Then like the flip of a switch I stop on it 1 more time and the thing starts running rough and seems to be cutting out....It runs rough reguardless of speed...I go back home and slap the diacom on...My FUEL is FINE..If anything it was a tad too rich..... All sensors are working fine and look good....
BUT...Knock retard.....Everytime I stomp on the gas hard under boost I get retard...like from 7-17 degrees worth........But Im not lean...The car just feels like its missing......... Could an ignition problem cause this...Say maybe a fouled plug or bad plug wire...... at the end of last year I added a PU coil...today an ignition module...50 miles ago a cap and rotor... Irealize maybe my PU coil is bad again but today it checked OK... BUT it seems like when I touch the stuff it runs fine for like 2 minutes then goes to crap again..So Im suspecting wiring problems??
Im kind of aT a loss here because it looks so nice on the diacom (leaving the retard out) yet its running like *** all the time with or without the retard...Like I have a plug not firing or something...BAtt voltage is Fine as well...
Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Can't help you in regards to a Power Adder issue, but yes, an ignition issue can cause it to knock/ping...i/e spark getting scattered to the incorrect cylinder at the incorrect time, could mimic advanced ignition timing.

Maybe a headgasket leak.. I had a motor that acted like that, went thru the whole ignition system, and turned out I had a small head gasket leak. Didnt find out till it really started to use some coolant.

Well what would I need to look for to correct spark scatter??? Or what would be causing this...Leaky wires??? bad cap and rotor???

Geeze I hope not a headgasket leak....Coolant seems to be stable but I guess Ill pull all of the plugs and see if any look like Ive been burning some coolant...

Yes, all the above
Bad PU Coil could be at fault, as could the module...funny how when you replaced it...things ran well. I'd suggest looking over the connections on the module and PU coil to the module, and look for any corrosion.
You did use dielectric grease under the module?

I used Heat sink Compound under the module....Thats what comes with it...Not dielectric grease... That white crap you smear under the module is Heat Sink Compound....That allows the module to Better disappate heat to the bottom of the distributor hSG... But Yes I added it.... I just need to Look at my plug wires closely and the cap roptor and the plugs.... The pick up coil measured Fine resistance wise...Even my OLD ignition module checked out fine BUT I got a new one anyway...Im just praying its not a head gasket leak...Cause I dont feel like ripping the heads off again...UGH

You're probably right, it is heat sink compound, IIRC, my original module had a white, pasty stuff on it, the one I replaced it with was clear and non-hardening..looked and felt like the stuff that comes with new plug wires.
What was the resistance of the PU Coil, the "books" have a pretty broad spec...but they should be right at 800ohms, +/-10, you should also wiggle the wires and look for a swing..kinda look under the plastic covering too for corrosion.

Yeah the book was like 500-1200 on the PU coil...
Mine was like 835 Ohms......I moved the wires and no change...Its a new one from GM about 6 months ago...
