cam question, LT1 vs. stock 89 Iroc

I just got an LT1 cam from a 95 Z28 and want to replace the stock cam in my 89 Iroc, will I see a big difference? Is it even worth the trouble to swap them? Thanks for any advise.

Anyone else have an opinion? cause I would like to go ahead and do the swap, but if it isn't going to add jack **** for power then maybe I shouldn't. would I at least see, say 20hp?

Sure it'll make a difference!
I put a 96 LT1 cam in my L98 with a set of 1.6 roller tips,and I'm sure I picked up 20hp.

I'm not sure of the specs on on the 95 LT1 cam that you have, but the 96 that I put in are .447/.459"lift,205/207 deg duration @.050 with a 117 LSA..........

Your 89 cam should be .415/.430"lift,207/213 deg duration@.050 with a 115 LSA.

As far as being"worth it",that all depends on what you want the car to do.My car is driven 35/40 miles per day through the warm months, with a couple of trips to the track in the summer....

I know its not a G92, and I'm not sure what the specs are on my current cam. Thanks for the replys though. I think I am going to go for it this summer when I have some time and a little more $. The cam was really cheap and in great shape so why not? even if it only adds 15-20hp I think it could be worth it.
