My pcv keeps shooting out

At WOT my filtered air thing kept shooting out of the valve cover and smoke would shoot out everywhere but I put a new grommet in and it stopped. Now the pcv valve keeps popping out but the grommet on that side is new too. I dont know what is going on.

um is the valve stuck closed. If you take it out and shake it up and down it should rattle.

Sounds like you're getting a lot of blow-by. How many miles do you have on the engine?

Sounds like to much crankcase pressure, which can be caused by a vacuum leak or worse your rings aren't sealing. Have you done any mods recently?

Jeez, are you guys on broadband or dsl? I type the above and send and you've already posted 3 more times

If its a vacuum leak I dont know where to even look. When I got the car the metal tube coming off the AIR pump was loose and the car ran like crap but I fixed that last year. If it came loose again could that be causing it?

The vacuum hose that normally goes bad the fastest is the one line running being the distributor to the cruse control, charcoal canister, and vacuum canister (don’t know what it is called).

Im not really sure how a Vaccum leak could cause excessive crankcase pressure, except maybe if the leak prevented the PCV from getting sufficent vaccum and ventilating hte crankcase.

how fast does your oil get dirty ?

I dont know. I only need this thing to run right for like another month and a half to 2 months until I get a new motor. But it is just pissing me off that it keeps popping out? My stepdad mentioned something about the passages in the heads or the block could be clogged with crap could that be a possability?

Yeah. Ive had this mentioned to me with similar problems in the past. Im not entire sure how that works... but aparantly your stepdad isnt Completely out to lunch

We had this problem a year or so ago with my friends Vette. It kept blowing out oilpan gaskets, VC gaskets, VC breathers, everything.

We couldnt figure out what the hell it was, But eventually we figured out it was worn rings.

The motor will probrably run for your 1-2 months with the bad rings, just take it easy, avoid overheating and high RPM.

Another way to Confrim this is to Change your oil, Then watch how fast the oil gets dirty.

Blowby gases impregnating in the oil will turn it black VERY fast.

A well Running engine should maintain clean oil thourghout the entire oil change interval

Actually now that I think of it it makes sense when he said it. He said it 2 days ago when breather side was popping out so I guess he meant the driver side passages could be clogged causing the passenger side breather to pop out. He doesnt even know the pcv valve pops out.
