I used this to help me with some things, maybe you already have seen it -

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap_730/

You'll need a 90 - 92 VSS. You'll also have to make sure your speedometer is wired in the right way.
In your car, the VSS goes into a buffer, then out to the ECM and the speedo and cruise control.
On the SD systems, it goes directly into the ECM from the VSS.

Then the out put pin B11 on the ECM gets wired into your speedo and pin C1 goes to the crusie control.

I am just finishing up a V6 to MAF TPI 350 to SD TPI 350 swap myself.

This info is the way I understand it from what I have asked about and researched. I am pretty sure it is correct, but there are others that know quite a bit more than I do.

that explains the whys and hows, and some of his particular results.. with 1/4 mile track differences from his initial trial.

The SD offeres more tuning potential, and has a faster more powerful computer.
