Anyone with custom air intakes please come inside!
im getting ready to drop in aTPI L98 into my bird and want to do a custom intake of some sort. what have you guys done? id like to see some pics if possible. from what ive seen, i can either put a "cone" style filter right in front of the throttle body, or have a piece of tubing bent and end in where the battery sits. any help would be appreciated. thanx
Check out my webpage. Full instructions for mine. I have changed mine to a K&N cone filter. Here is the filter link. Just find the biggest one that fits and slap it in there.

Take the time to do it clean with stainless elbows and pipe. I'm about to do the MAF to MAP ECM swap, so I will get rid of the MAF and have a continous piece of stainless in there. You can make it look good with the MAF though.

I ordered the elbows from a co. in Houston called PAC Stainless, and I found the pipe in the maintenance shop at work. I brought the elbows in to work and had one of the maintenance guys weld it up. Took him less than 30 min. I used 3" red silicone hose pieces on each side of the MAF. Those 3" to 3" sewer connectors are very bulky. The turbo guys make their connections with that sorrt of hose all the time.
