To anyone who has one of the ASCD (American Sports Car Design) Ram Air SS hoods on their car

Has anyone made this unit functional on a TPI based car yet ? If so what did you use for an air box...where did you get it...and do you have pictures/pricing on the setup ? I really want to make this hood functional...it just dosen't look right with the hood and no induction to go with it.

FYI: I have allready contacted ASCD and asked them about it. They say they are thinking about working on one to fit the 3rd gen cars but they don't have a air box as of yet to fit it.

 

I have the same hood on my 88 IROC, and it is ''going'' to be functional soon, I have made the air box out of sheet metal that i bent myself. and the next task is going to be getting it to seal around the intake duct. I WILL let you know how it works out and how to do it. The one from the actual 4th gen SS's was considered for a retro-fit, (I have a few buddies with them), but I just couldn't fugure out how and where to mount it. Give me about another month or so and I'll let you know...andif it really works well maybe I'll send it in to the web page to be posted in the tech area.......Its a pain in the ***....

 

Sounds good. I'm with you, my problem has been how to get a fabricated one to seal off.

I have been told the 4th gen SS Camaro air box won't fit under this hood because it's too tall....does anyone have the deminsions on one of them ???
