How do I make the fuel line into the FPR stop leaking???
My old set of rails leaked where the steel line went into the front of the FPR. I think it was because I tweaked the line a little bit when I reinstalled it a while back. I put an oversized o-ring in and it still leaked intermittantly.
Fast forward to now. For the last 3 months I've been assembling a new top end consisting of an accel intake, slp runners, new computer and harness, valve covers, etc. I also decided to get a second set of rails because of my tweaked line on my originals. I painted them up, sanded and cleaned everything, and installed all new o-rings with a slight coating of oil so that they'd seal well. So... I turn the key today and fuel pissed out of the same damned spot on the new rails.
What in the hell do I do to make it NOT leak from there?

The line isn't flared. It's a straight tube with an enlarged spot which serves only as a stop for the o-ring.
How do I identify a vitron o-ring? I bought o-rings at Aubichon, and also used some from an o-ring kit I had hanging around. They look like the good old black o-rings like what was on there previously. Thanks.

Damn jim you're having a hell of a time
Just as a small side hint whenever I'm installing fuel system components I use vasoline on o-rings, especially on injectors, it helps insure you dont tear/rip/scratch anything on installation.
Good luck.

I used either vaselene or motor oil on every o-ring, depending on what work bench I was on during that portion of assembly.
BTW... is there a special o-ring that I should be using? Somebody on the corvette board mentioned that the gas can eat a regular o ring.

As Procharged mentioned, the Vitron O-rings will not deteriorate due to gas. Try finding a fuel rail rebuild kit at the auto store, or go to the dealership and get the right part.

Check with the dealer, G M used to sell a fuel rail repair kit, it included all the o rings, I bought one about 3 years ago when I did my tpi. It may still be available.

Anything I get through the dealer is a week or more away. How rapidly do regular o-rings deteriorate? My other rail had 10,000 or more miles on it and the rings looked fine, and some of those were standard o-rings. Anyway... I think I found the problem tonight. I pulled the rails apart, and the o-ring in question seemed to be too large for the hole. It was semi-twisted in the hole, and had 2 indentations indicating that it was not sitting flat. Now I've just got to find the right size o-ring. Hopefully I can find one at a supply store, because the dealer in this po-dunk town sucks.
