Stripped out screws on 85 tpi
I have a 85 z tpi and i was just going to clean the whole intake and take it apart to get it back to normal, i took out the bolts that u need the torque screw for but there are two that are totaly stripped to circles and i cant get them out.?? any ideas on how to take them out , i have tried using bigger size and hammering it but it still keeps on stripping the screw. I also need to know where i can get new torque screws for when and if i get it out. THnx.

Grind a slot into the bolts and use a slotted screwdriver attachment for your ratchet. Make sure you grind the slot deep enough the first time, because if you f*ck it up with the slotted screwdriver, you're really in for a major hassle.
thnx for the tips but i did that with my dremal and i still cant get it
I guess i am going to have to tke it somewhere or something to get it fixed. Do u guys know where u can get more screws for it , new ones? Thnx again

If you want torx screws, you're going to have to go to the dealer, but if you can settle for allen head, any good hardware store should have them.

Ever heard of an easy-out, or a screw extractor? You can pick up a set Checker or Autozone, but they usually break. Get a good set and the Easy-out will probably work best.
Now would be a good time to get rid of your button head torx bolts....use some nice stainless steel socket caps. pic below:

.
I know what you are talking about. The guy at my machine shop does it for $10 a pop. Not too bad I think.
