Whats goin on with the oil pressure...
Hey
The oil pressure in the car has been running lower then normal. The car also stalls when the oil pressure gets low. I dont know what is going on. I changed the chip back to the origional chip that came with the car and took out the performance chip. Does anyone know what is happening...
Thanks

Check the pressure with a mechanical guage to verify pressure.
What weight oil does it have in it and how many miles. Also, what
is the idle pressure and also the pressure at 2,000rpm?

This happend before I changed the oil. It is 5W 30 oil. I used the same stuff last time and had no problem. The weather is really hot here too. About 10 degrees hotter then normal. The idle pressure just lingers above the redline on the oil gauge, right on the first tick mark. That is at 450-500RPM. At 2000 RPM it runs in the middle of the gauge. 1/2 way. I dont know what it is.... or what is goin on.
Check the pressure with a manual guage to verify the dash
guage. If it is low then go to a 10-40 oil with Lucas oil additive
or similar to keep the oil stiffer when it is hot.
Sounds like the engine may just be getting tired.

WEll before you go ripping a engine out like I did(excuse to build it up) change your oil pressure sending unit, these go out alot on our cars. Its right behind the intake and sticks out from the block, its a 29 dollar part, I would try that first.
Summer I always use a heavier weight oil 20w50, so the oil is thicker when its hotter and in the winter run a thinner oil, so it has a less chance of gelling up.
