got air/fuel guage, HOLY SH#T
i got an air fuel ratio guage today went for a drive to test it out. when just cruising down the road it is right where it should be, at wot a little bit richer a good thing. but at idle it runs so lean it is off the guage idle starts loping and check engine light comes on running too lean, but if put in neutral or park ratio is just right and light shuts off when i start driving again. any suggectins?
What you got under the hood?
Is your setup stock, or modded? MAF or MAP system? the RPM change in Park/Nuetral vs in gear may be putting you in a different section of the tables on the prom causing it to run lean until you increase RPMs. Not really sure.

I still haven't figured that one out. It isn't the level in the bowls.

I still haven't figured that one out. It isn't the level in the bowls. Yeah, seems to do it all the time. That is, when I have it turned on. It's more of a double check than anything else. I guess even though the floats are set right, it could still be uncovering the pickups in the bowl.

I'm using a holley 650 Double pumper on it. It doesn't have the slightest bit of hesitation or stumble. It has awesome throttle response and is incredibly smooth. If you didn't have a nose, you'd swear it was electronic injection, only better
I wish my FI cars ran so well.
Did you try making some small baffels for the fuel bowls on your carb? I did that once in a thermoquad, and it cured it from stumbling in corners. Just get some thin brass, drill a zillion holes in it for transfer, trim it to fit strategicly in the bowls. It keeps the fuel from sloshing around, and it's dirt cheap to do.
