what kind of hp could you squeeze out of a 305tpi?

Just wondering what kind of power these engines are capable of if every bolt on in the book was installed while retaining the stock displacement and internals (pistons, rods, crank), both N/A and with forced induction. I know it would not make the power of a 350 but I don't have the resources to do an engine swap.

Thanks!

You could get into the 12s NA on a stock LB9 bottom end with decent heads, cam and tuning

Slap a blower on a similar combo and run way into the 11s depending on how badly you're trying to plant rods in the road.

Did you have a more specific question or was that it?

You can squeeze as much as you want out of a 305, but you're going to suqeeze your wallet twice as hard.

Well I think I'd be squeezing my wallet just as hard with a 350 if not harder. At least if I keept my 305 I'm saving myself money and headaches from buying and swapping engines... And I'll get a little better mileage from having a slightly smaller engine.

Not a single bit of that makes sense.

A 350 swap is NOT hard and NOT expensive!

You can pull the 305 and bolt up EVERYTHING to the 350.

A little tuning and you've got a daily driver until you start buying aftermarket parts and mods for it.

I did my 305 to 350 swap in just over a day with a friend helping.

Why do threads like this keep popping up?

i would suggest swapping in a 350, but if you stay with the 305, you can make it as fast as you can afford. a complete l98 was swapped under my exsisting tpi for well under 2000.

The guy has 16 posts, lets not all start clobber'n him on the 305 thing

Depending on what you're classifying as a "bolt on" you can probably make it to 13's or 12's, if to you heads are bolt ons. If you mean like "home made ram air" and "Relocated IAT" etc... fowgetaboutit.

What don't you understand Chubby? I posted very clearly in my origional thread that I DON'T have the resources to do an engine swap. Not everyone has a cherry picker in their garage! Or friends to help them! Man... someone needs a nap.

I thought this was a tech forum not a bragging contest! WOW you can swap an engine in a whole day! Lets see I must have a trophy for you somewheres...:nono: Oh yea there it is!

Welcome aboard

and you'll need to get used to chubby this is just how he is.

And with that being said I think we got your how much power can a 305 get question answered, to restate it. "The only thing that replaces cubic inches is cubic money".

Now that the tech has ended and flames have begun I think this ones over
