need help on pressure regulator

my car has been having drivability prob. (long cranking startup, some stumbling) and i thought it was the fuel pump, but i am not so sure anymore, because i did the flow test , of wich in 15 seconds, it is to flow 1\2 pint, that is equall to 1 pint in 30 seconds, i got 1 pint in 22 seconds. i think that is to much. and also, i put a press. gauge on it and the pressure will slowly rise to about 4 psi and then fall, when i manually turn on the fuel pump. so could it could the press. regulator be bad?

if it is bad, i know the plenum needs to come off, but can i leave the runners on? i need all the help i can get.

thanks
anthony

Yeah, it's easy to get to. You should be able to leave the runners on. Once you pull the plenum off you'll see it sitting on the back crossover part of the fuel rail. One thing you will need though is a set of security Torx bits from your local parts store. They look just like normal bits, but have a whole in the center of them to acommidate the bump in the center of the screw. You can also pick up a new stock style FPR from the parts store for around $10 too.

I actually managed to get my FPR off without the need for the security torx bits. I used the normal bits and gentle tapped them with a hammer to squash the bump down so that the bit would grip enough. It worked for me.
