how long can a tpi feed a 383

do any of yall know how long a fully non stock tpi setup could keep enough air into a 383? im talkin the tpi havin as&m runners, lpe or some other place porting the plenum, super ram base, and as&m 58mm throttle body. my 383 is finaly coming together and im getin to were i need to make a choice on the intake. i want it to look stock b/c im telling everybody that when my car goes into the shop that im just gettin the motor rebuilt and i want it to look mostly the same. if i put another intake setup on there then anyone would be able to tell the the diffrence. if it cant be done then alright but should i do all of that or just buy a stealth ram and save alot of money? the motor is going to fast it has fast burn heads and a custom cam and the intake is the only thing i have left to decide on so give me some of yalls expert advice

If this is a MAF car, then you have another problem.

Nope, read the post below regarding the "Translator". Basically, the only thing you can do with MAF is compensate within the eprom by adding extra fuel when in PE Mode.

I'v heard it (MAF) will still be good, just in upper RPM's it will max out and you'll loose a little bit, but not much.

If its a daily driver I wouldnt worry about it.

as for the intake feeding it.... it should, I mean you'll still run out of breath in Upper RPM's due to the intake, but not as bad as a stock TPI. Just add extra fuel with a chip and have fun.

You might also want to re-think your intake base. I believe you said you are running fast burn heads, which unfortunatly limits you to a SDPC intake base or a TPIS mini ram 3.

the heads are drilled for older and newer style intake patterns. and i thought only the vortecs had the intake ports raided and the fast burns were at the normal height?

Actually, the fastburns will not accept normal intake bolt patterns old or new. It will only accept vortec bases like the vortec.

Oh yeah, they are drilled for old or new style valve covers however.

that's probably what threw me off...the fact that they could be centerbolt. Glad i got that straightened out.
