Injector Connector Seal

There is a rectangular seal inserted inside my injector connector on my 92 camaro. Does anybody know the GM part number? I went to the parts dept, and they had never seen anything like it. Is this seal absolutely critical? Is there an alternative meathod to sealing the connector?

any info will be greatly appreciated.

I doubt that you can find that seal sold separately, without a ton of research to find out what companies are making the connectors. Probably the best bet is to order just a connector, or go to a wrecking yard and get one off a car from there. Many GM (and other makes) use that same connector and seal, and you should be able to find the seal you need.

Is it critical? Its a dust/water seal for the connection. Water isnt going to get in there unless you wash the engine or have a major washing down of antifreeze. Havent seen too much dust, but I dont drive on dirt roads either. Either of those two getting in there could cause problems but might not as well. Its kinda like rolling the dice.

If there are any OMC sterndrive dealers around you can order the connectors from them.
If not and you really want the seal I think I have a couple laying in the toolbox someplace.
The OMC #for the connector USED to be 3852260.
Hope that helps.

It's proabably best that I do replace these seals, because when the car isn't on jackstands, It's a show car and I do wash the engine with soap and water quite regularly. Also what is the "OMC stearndrive place"? Do they have a website?

Thanks for everything.

Order a PT113 Delco or 12085491 from a GM dealer. This is the whole connector with pigtail.
