T-RAM and what cam?
T-RAM and what cam?
I am trying to decide on a cam for my ZZ-4 shortblock that I will be putting a T-RAM intake on of Firehawk/SLP fame soon...I am looking to bolt up some AFR 190's or TF heads, and am wondering if the CCEL/Lingenfelter 74219 cam will work as well with thr T-RAM as it is supposed to with the SuperRam. What about the LT4 Hot Cam here? Looking to run some low to mid 13's butretain normal driveability. Any help or opinions here are gretaly appreciated.

I believe the original Firehawk cam for the T-ram intake is the SLP 51006 cam. With the AFR or TF heads you might not need the split duration on that cam though. So the LPE 219 would probably be a good choice also. Not many people have experience with the T-ram; I'd try to contact someone on the T-ram registry site and find their views.
I run a t-ram registry site... I had one on my '92Z. SLP makes a cam for the T-Ram, call and ask - there is one guy at SLP that will answer you questions - I foget his name, but he was really great! Don't ask him for parts though! lol
yeah, it was the 51006 but it's discontinued. I believe that I will be going with the Lingenfelter 219 cam in the end...now I have to decide wether to put theT-RAM in my 91 Formula or my 88 GTA Notchback

yea.. wtf is a T-Ram? man, i have been away from TGO for a long time. i guess its cause i dont have my baby near me anymore, and i am a mod. on another site (see sig, you are all welcome)
The intake manifold designed by Ryan Falconer and produced by SLP for use on the 91/92 Firebird Firehawk. 250 units/cars were scheduled for production but only 25 built out of 27 orders placed. It is said to produce more hp than a super ram and is very difficult to find unless you own one of the 25 Firehawks. The T-RAM's were sold for a couple of years through the SUMMIT catalog, but they really didn't sell that well in the pre-message board/internet explosion days when alot of TPI/EFI owners weren't either aware of it's benefits for the cost, and at the same time what a rare piece it would turn out to be years later. The original tooling molds were destroyed years ago in an SLP warehouse fire, and there simply isn't enough interest according to SLP to remold and reproduce them for sale again. It is estimated that less than 60 of the manifolds exist, again, with 25 of those on the actual Hawks themselves. Mike25th above has a T-RAM registry that in itself only has more than a few of the singular manifolds not installed on a Hawk...it took me close to 4 years to find mine after missing an Ebay auction on one back in '98.

I know this isnt the for sale section but thought it would get seen better here:
My mechanic has a T-Ram that he is looking to sell or trade for a Miniram.

If you didn't notice, mine was polished... I only did the flat sections otherwise it would have been way to much I think... Word of advice when installing - junk the plenum bolts that come with the kit! Buy some stainless ones... I snapped the last one during installation and went with stainless after!

If you see him again - tell him to call me! I want my car back!
Install easy??? Ha - good one. It wasn't bad until you had find enough vacuum spots off the manifold to run the MAP sensor, the brake booster and the AFPR. Plus custom made oil filler cap because nothing would fit under the side tanks. The Plenum also houses the fuel rails so you have to make sure the injectors all seat while keeping the gaskets in place. I will post a picture of the lower half and one of the plenum without the side tanks tomorrow...
Love it to death though... Needs a better motor than my stock L98 to breath right. I had 24# injectors too all running off of a stock PROM. It really woke up around 3700RPM. I think the kid who bought it put a new PROM in it, but still ram 15s in the 1/4. A nice set of heads and a cam - maybe a paxton - that car would fly!
