Just when i thought i had no more problems...what a fool i am for thinking so....

Ok...round....uhh.....518? Anyway, here is the situation. A while back, i posted about how sometimes(especially in the rain it seems), my service engine soon light flickers on for a split second, and silmulteneously my car boggs down for a split second also(you can hear/feel it), and then everything is fine and back to normal. Most people told me to change the TPS, but i havent gotten around to doing that. Fast forwardr to today. This morning, the car was fine, and i was on my way, driving and all, and within 8 miles, that flickering of the light and the car bogging happend twice. Crusing speed was between 45-60mph. But things returned to normal. No problems. On my way back, same route, it happend once. I went to get my check from work, and when i got back in the car, and started it up, all of a sudden, the car is idling roughly...not smooth. Step on the gas, same thing. The car shakes now in park if i rev it or just let it idle, and also when i am in Drive. I cant check under the hood for a loose spark plug wire b/c its raining like a bastard out here, and all the water will go onto my cap and wires. I parked the car, and revved it a bit in park, and you can defiently tell by the exhaust sound that there's something not right..the exhaust flow doesnt sound straight through as it usually does. I parked the car and revved it with the door open. The shaking and vibrating occurs mostly between 1800-3300 rpm. The exhaust is fine, no problems with it(no broken cat, etc) What preytel is this now?? Anyone with any clues?

Let me list what i did/changed/fixed in the last year or so:

Changed Thermo
Spark Plug Wires
Spark Plugs
Cap/Rotor
Oxygen Sensor(almost 1 year ago)
Changed ECM(was getting codes for things i didnt even have)
Set TPS
Changed Fuel Filter
Checked Fuel Pressure(no problems there)

.......and i think that about covers everything i did. Anyone got any ideas for me, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

A diagnostic trouble code of some kind would be pretty cool here but hey I can actually guess with some accuracy.. I'd say you have a bad coolant temp sensor but it's justa guess.. Why when it rains ? Couldn't begin to tell yea that but gimme a code and I can do alot better......

Looked at it today...thankfully, it was something stupid....spark plug wire #8 was touching the manifold....burnt to a crisp at that end...made #8 cylinder miss....much better now [whew]-thankfully, nothing major.

And people wonder why some of us harp on checking the basics. I know you couldn;t check it that day because of the driving rain, just pointing out that at least you saved yourself the (sometimes) weeks or moths that some people spend pulling their hair out out thinking themself on a problem only to find something really dumb they should have checked first

Yea i definetly couldnt check it that day, b/c up here in PA i dont have a garage to keep the car in...I dont have my tools, jacks, stands, or ramps with me...its all in NJ. Plus the weather we had wasnt helping, and today was the first time I could look at it(i went away for the weekend). But, at least it was something stupid and nothing major like a fuel injector or a piston or whatever else. Now the car is running good...till something else breaks
