Videos of my IROC vs. a Turbo TA and a 66-67? Stang w/ slicks
Not my best night at the track last week, but I got a couple cool videos. If you download them and can't see them, download the codec provided and install it, it only takes a minute or so. If my car looks like it stops accelerating after 1st gear vs. the TTA, that is what happens when you shift your auto tranny into 3rd gear from 1st I ended up running a 12.64 vs. the TTA's 13.5. I ran a 12.43 (with my best 60' of 1.710) to the Stang's 13.38 in the other video.

I love your car Buckeye. It's almost exactly what I want to do with mine. :hail:
I got a question though: Is that a crate engine in there or did you build up an l98?

The Mustang was first produced in April, 1964. The 14th IIRC. Any Mustang produced before September-ish 1964 is a 64.5. My friend owned one for 5 years that was produced in July 1964. I've restored and worked on more 64.5-66 Mustangs than I care to mention over the past 13 years. 64.5 Mustangs do exist, if you say no, you dont know what the heck you are talking about, and neither does your friend. Do some research. Here's just one example of a parts store (that I frequent) that knows whats up:
http://www.larrysmustang.com/index.php3
Notice they list 64-73 Mustang parts. Check any retailer you want, you'll find 64.5 parts.

Madmax, I believe April 17th, 1964 is the correct date.
Edit: yup..
The Ford Mustang was introduced in 1964. The car was an instant success that set a new record for first year sales. One story describes how a truck driver drove right through a showroom window, staring and enchanted by the car.
The car was the brainchild of Lee Iaococca, who envisioned an inexpensive, sporty car for the masses. On April seventeenth, 1964 Ford unveiled the Mustang Convertible at the New York Worlds Fair. The car was also offered as a hardtop coupe, the fastback was available to the public five months later. ( See our Photo Gallery for some neat pictures.)
During the first five months of production, one could order a factory fresh hardtop equipped with a 170 cubic inch six cylinder engine for less than $2500 (1964). Later, the car could could be purchased with a 200 cubic inch six, or a 289 V8. Specialty Mustangs, such as the "K"-Code or Shelby came with even more powerful V8 engines.
Transmission choices for any 64 1/2 through 1968 Mustang were three speed manual, four speed manual, or automatic with the latter being the most popular. Body styles for the 64 1/2 through 66 Mustangs were identical, except for changes only the purist would argue about.

In the second video, you can see just how well your car hooks. It doesn't sound like your revving up at the line. Is that right? I haven't got my car to the track yet, but have been practicing my launch with the g-tech. My times are better when I leave the line almost off idle. It seems to transfer the weight better.

I think anything that can reduce underhood temps and prolong the life of your investment is worth it. How much is the coating?
My TES aren't coated. over 3 of use has turned them into a nice black charcoaled kinda redish in some spots color. they have minor rust, nothing major.
I can't count the number of things I've melted from radiant heat with them, plug wires, wire loom, sensors, etc. Some extra heat protection would've been nice.
