problem tpi

hey guys im helping a friend with his 91 tpi firebird and it has an odd problem it starts just cold just fine after a few min of running or driving it starts to run rough and then shut off no start after that , at that time there is no spark if you let it cool off a while like 20-30 min it starst back up no prob no codes or data from the scan tool that looks off , now it has the small dis and external coil
im assuming its one or the othere being that it gets hot and dies cools off and works again untell it gets hot again

It is located under the dist. cap.

Maybe the coil overheating??

Try touching those things when it will not start due to heat and see if they are very hot.
