Fuel Pressure gauge
I was looking on the fuel rails for where I would mount a fuel pressure gauge, and I only saw one schrader valve on the right fuel rail. That's fine, but there is something bolted to the plenum right in front of it. Black, with tubes coming out of it. If I get the ACCEL fuel pressure gauge that mounts on the schrader valve, will I have to relocate this black thing, or will the gauge clear it?
Also, I read on another post that you have to tear the innards out of the schrader valve. Will this permanently damage the valve, or can it be replaced it I ever take the gauge off?

I thinks that little black you are talking about is the Fuel pressure regulator. As for the after market fuel guage. I am not sure about having to remove the core of the valve. The ones I have seen just screw right over it.HTH

Right above the schraeder is the map sensor. you can bend some tubing to go around the sensor and mount your gauge sensor on that.
afaik you need to tear apart the schraeder. However you can get replacement schraeders.
What I did was I removed the crossover pipe between the rails opposite the fpr, drilled, welded a block, and drilled/tapped the block. My pressure sensor is located under the plenum. nice and hidden. That also leaves my schraeder open in case I want to check pressures without running around the car to look inside.

Please don't mount a perminent glass gauge on the rail itself. It spooks me each time I see one. You won't know its broken until your car is on fire.

Yeah, I guess it's not too smart to leave it there. I can see my car blowing up just because I didn't take 5 min to put it on and take it off. It's not like you need to look at it a lot, just to change fuel pressure or make sure the pressure is still the same. By the way, is it hard to take it on and off? Do you have to take the inside of the schrader valve out just to leave it on for a few minutes? Argh, so many questions!!!
