Changing Valve Covers

How hard is it to change the valve covers? I was gonna pick up a spare set and paint them first. Is it as simple as just unbolting them and sticking the new ones on? (including gaskets and sealant of course)

I you plan on removing and installing them without scatching or wrecking anything, you better plan on spending about 2-3 hours removing and reinstalling all of the crap that in is your way. If your car has AC then the passenger side will really be a pain. On my '69 it takes about 10 minutes. The last time I had to remove mine on my IROC to change the rocker arms, the whole job took a little over 3 hours.
