well you didnt tell us anything! what are your specs? im asuming you have a TPI 305 as you are on the TPI board and have an 86' get a full exhaust catback ditch the crappy T/A intake ducking for some sort of cold air and get rid of the peanut cam u probably have in there. depending on what gear you have you may want to change that as well. More importantly make sure the car is runnign to full potential as it sits now.

#1 is to get the air cleaner out of that can. Pitch the can !! Even using a stock paper element, just sticking it on the end of the MAF, and blocking off the other end made it run a lot harder from 4000 to 4500 rpm. Replacing the stock paper with a K&N at the same location did not improve much more. I went a step further and removed the twisty black plastic air duct and went to a 3 inch exhaust pipe. Keep the rubber O-rings off the plastic air duct. Do a little trial fitting and you would b esurprised how you can piece it together and the O-rings work out just fine.
