Depends on how radical you want to go or high to rev.

Check out the LT4 HOT cam and Comp Cams 306. You'll want a higher stall w/ the CC306, maybe the HOT cam too.

I have a similar set up, you will like the CC306 with that motor, it's part #08-306-8. TPIS' ZZX cam is also a great cam for that combination.

The CC306 is from Comp Cams, ZZX is a TPIS camshaft. The CC306 is a bit choppy, I'll admit that. You might want to drop back one cam to a CC305 if you want a daily driver camshaft. Lumpy cams and loose converters don't bother me much, but I will admit that the CC305 will have better street manners vs. the CC306 or ZZX.

My cam which is the non-LT1 version of the CC306 is: 230/244 duration @ .050" lift, 112 LSA, 108 intake centerline, .510/.540 lift with 1.5 ratio rocker arms. The CC305 is: 224/230 duration @ .050" lift, 114 LSA, 110 intake centerline, .510/.510 lift with 1.5 ratio rockers.

I don't do my own chips, I don't have the equipment or enough of the know how as of yet. I'm working with a friend from the board on that. I am going to try and get it tuned the best I can using a wideband 02 sensor for now. Datamaster software is supposedly better for what I'm trying to do - but I just don't have the cash to invest in that right now.

# 08-306-8 for the L98 version of the CC306 to fit the earlier roller non-LT1 engines, # 08-305-8 for the CC305 cam.

This guy is running the TPIS ZZX cam in an AFR headed 383 ->11SEC91Z He is running the stock SD harness & ECM in that car, uses a chip from TPIS. The ZZX cam is 239 duration @ .050" & .558" lift, 112 LSA - very similar to the CC306.

The hot cam would probobly be a little small for a 383 with an LT1 intake, another vote for the cc306 and stall.

It's a bit choppy, but my brakes still work. I have a little in-line valve that interrupts the hose going from my brake booster and the intake manifold. Many LT1 guys have been successfully running the CC306 cam. The CC305 is one camshaft down and is a great cam as well. I would go with the CC305 if you want to keep this car as your daily driver, and might have to sit in traffic for any length of time. No matter what, you will make more power that your current camshaft with either cam.

I ran the cc306, and did not like it. I switched to it from a very small slp cam (the specs were somthing like 207-212 .480-.487 on a 112. I went slower with the cc306. Ran a best of 12.5 @ 114 with the smaller cam, then after the switch I only went 12.8@112. I even switched gear to match the bigger cam (changed from 3.73 to 4.30. 60 ft times were similar with both setups in the 1.9 to 2.0 range. I even ran the times for the cc306 in much cooler air. However my car had a tpis chip for the smaller cam, and I never got it retuned for the cc306. I believe the cc306 didnot work well because of the huge split in duration between intake and exaust. Imo afr heads respond better to a cam closer to a single patteren due to the extremely good ratio of intake to exaust flow. I also experienced power brake lose after about 3 good pumps of the brake pedal. You porbably wont run into this problem on a 383. My mods were stock 350 shortblock, miniram, afr 190's,hooker supercomps, and all the other boltons. On a different short block (all stock pieces, except it was balanced) I went 12.1 @118 with a tpis zz409 ( this was done on the same tune from tpis for the small slp cam). Ive been through several engines and cam swaps. I am about to switch engins yet again. I lost my stock short block due to the screw that holds the airfoil in place getting sucked in (lost a piston and rod). My next engine will be a fully forged 383 with all the same mods except I will be installing a tpis zzx cam.

If you realy want a cc306 I am going to sell mine.
